10/9 Champ AMPS 192, +2 283, +7 97, +10 333, PMPS 357

I, in my infinite wisdom (of which I have none), fed Champ the one can of FF chunky chopped grill I had in the cupboard. I've already discovered the regular FF chopped grill seems to raise his BG so you would think I would realize that the chunky version of it would probably also raise his BG.....and it does. Oh well, my DD wants me to run around shopping with her today so at least it will be safe for me to do it. And I get sushi for lunch!!!!!

Hi Patty, it looks like both of our kitties are getting something good they normally don't eat. I didn't realize there was a difference between the chunky and the chopped grill FF. One must be the Grilled which is more carbs. I'm sure Champ is licking his lips. :lol: I have a lot of the FF Chopped Grill in my kitty cabinet and can't remember why I stopped feeding. I remember others had a problem with it. Have a nice day shopping with DD.

About the time I think I know what is "safe" to feed, I find out the manufacturer changed the formula. Frustrating!!!

Well, at least there's an explanation for the +2!!! I'm sure the carbs will clear his system soon! Hope you're having a great day!

This food thing is so confusing and frustrating. So chunky means extra carbs -- I guess that is why Simon went higher when I gave him chunky chicken a week ago. The mixed grill also raises Simon's bg.

The food thing is super-frustrating!!! Why don't cat food manufacturers realize our kitties don't need carbs!!

Well, I know what NOT to feed Champ when I want to leave the house for a few hours and not worry about him!!! I checked him at his +6.5 and got a 101 and then checked him again as I was leaving the house at his +7 so I would know if I needed to leave any food out for him and got a 97. Only a drop of 4 points in 30 minutes, but the fact it was late in his cycle and he seems to be dropping late in his cycle lately, I figured I better be safe than sorry. When I stocked up on the FF a week or so ago, I accidently bought one can of a "minced" flavor, but didn't realize it until I opened it up a couple of days ago. I knew it wasn't a classic variety because it looked way too delicious!! I put it in the frig in case Champ ever got into low numbers and needed it to boost him up. Well, I thought, I'll just give him some of that minced flavor. That'll probably bring him up a bit, he'll be safe while I'm gone, and I won't have to worry. I get home and check him at his +10 and he's at 333.....just a bit of overkill!!! By shot time, he was at 357. Oh well...we'll start fresh tomorrow!!

And the sushi was DELISH!!
 
Champ hit almost all the colors of the rainbow today! He is definitely one carb sensitive kitty, huh. Glad you got out and did some shopping and had some sushi (blech). :lol: Have a wonderful night!
 
Wow....that stuff with the food would make me crazy....as if we don't have enuff to do that!!!

Glad you got sushi.....hope you had a really nice time with Danielle ;-)
