He's still bouncing but not sure why this really high number this morning... This up down up down in higher numbers sucks. I guess that is bouncing though, huh? I thought they bounced after being too low then slowly came down "breaking the bounce" into lower numbers. Didn't we call it rebounding years ago? Maybe that's why it's called bouncing now. Because they bounce up and down over and over.

I would suggest that anytime you shoot a blue number - that you get a 2+ reading. It looks like Shooter likes to slide on down from those lovely blue starts right into the depths of the lagoon. As soon as you notice that he's sliding start feeding - first try LC wet food and then test again, if he keeps sliding get out the MC wet food - and give him a teaspoon.

The objective here is to slow him down and keep him from hitting the lagoon so fast and hard. Once you can keep him from hitting those greens - anything below 100, he'll stop the bouncing. Every time he hits a low number, his body is responding (as it perceives an emergency) and you'll see those higher BG values as a result....up/down, up/down....

Try to stop the slide before he hits that and see if he'll settle out a bit - holding him in the blues until he gets used to that might be a good place to start - then allow him to gradually make his way into the greens.

Ok thanks! I have always heard that "greens are healing numbers." So, I've been trying to get him into the greens. I can definitely try to keep him in the blues for a little bit if that is better. The issue in the morning though is that I work. As soon as I get up (6:25am) I check him, shoot him and feed all of them. Then I get ready for work and head out the door at 7:45. I usually work a split shift, so I'm back around 12:30/12:45 when I check him at +6 and feed then I'm back out the door for work at 4:30pm and home around 6:30/6:45 for his pmps, shot and food. Based on all my other +2's and +3's he almost always continues to go up after his am shot until about +4 when he starts coming down - Levemir seems to be a later nadir than Lantus.

But aren’t you gone at work until about +6, Heather? So you can’t do the feeding (unless from an auto feeder?)

ETA: I see you explain ed the work problem above!

Yes and no. With having another piggy in the house I have no idea of knowing who is actually getting food from the auto feeder.

This crazy cat went from 401 at AMPS to 61 at +8! I can't believe he dropped so much today! Makes me wonder again where that 401 came from in the first place.
