Though it was high in the last 16 hours it's come down a bit.

Concerning the shoot site; do you use an alcohol pad or cotton ball or at all? I also wondered about the way the vet's use it on the top of the container viles before they use various injections.

Nice number today. My vet said no need to wipe down the injection site. I think wiping off the vial is to keep whatever may try to grow on the silicone from getting into the vial when you insert the syringe.
