I'm a bit disappointed that Pumbaa didn't stay below his AMPS of 266 today, and drop down into blue numbers. Especially after his dose increase, as it appeared previously that he reacted immediately to a Levemir dose increase.

All I can do is feed him low-carb foods and adjust his insulin and insulin dose, which I've been doing. The rest is up to my little guy and how his body reacts.

I am still very, very, very pleased that the bouncing and diving that Pumbaa did on the Lantus seems to be history! <--insert antijinx nailbite_smile

Just like Dale (of Chip & Dale fame) reported, Pumbaa is doing so much better, personality-wise, without those huge variances in numbers that he had on Lantus. Lately, he has not even been hiding from me at feeding/shooting time. Now that the dose is higher, he looks up from his food for about one second after I've injected the Levemir, but not like it stung, more like acknowledging that I'm done with the deed and he can get back to eating without any further interruptions. I think he hates when I tent his skin now, more than anything.

So I am still very enthused about the switch to Levemir, and can't wait for Pumbaa to have better numbers!
