Basic is having a feeding tube put in today. While this will make given his meds to him easier, it will also guarantee he is getting what he needs, nutrition wise. If I should do anything different that what the vets wants, caloric wise, please advise.

A/D
Day 1: 120 ml
Day 2: 240 ml
Day 3: 360 ml

Says his resting energy requirement: 400kcal/day

His bilirubin went from a 3.9 at last test to a 1.1 today. Told her while he is an indoor only cat and always has been, he has been begging to go outside. I finally took a blanket out in the yard and he just lays in the sun. I didn't understand until now. My cat has never cried and scratched at the backdoor. He was simply needing sunlight.

His BG have been somewhat elevated, but I feel that I have his diabetes under control for the moment. He's libre will be coming off in a few day. I need to learn to home test because while the libre is incredibly convenient and less invasive to my cat, it isn't realistic for me to continue to spend $80 x2 every 30 days (freestyle libre 3).

Switched his anti nausea to Ondansetron.

Thank you to each of that have helped me during this time. I don't always post in the right place or all the correct info, but I will learn the rules eventually. Thank you for being patient and understanding and helping me help my cat.

Labs on 10/3
ALT: 486
ALK PHOS: 256
CHOLESTEROL: 450

Any advice on how to lower these numbers would be helpful.

*His feeding tube is clogged. I have to take him back in the morning.

*Is Buprenex strong enough pain med for what he has going on?

Are you flushing it with water before and after feeding? AD shouldn't block the tube

It should be. Ask the vet to check the dose is correct.
Ill ask @Suzanne & Darcy to comment on the labs.

Let us know what happens about the etube
Thanks for responding.

It was his meds that clogged it. I've ordered a grinder. 2 different stores near me didnt have them. I crushed them in a baggie with a jar. I felt absolutely defeated, bent over the sink cying, when he ran to his bowl. It has been a long time since he has eaten his own food like this. He has been back to food 3xs.

We successfully unclogged the tube. Sounds unconventional, but she used 1ml of coca cola to break up the pills. Then, dumped the remaining so it didn't all enter his belly. Neither of us could've handled another surgery. Once unclogged, we added his meds slowly, alternating meds with flushes between. Then flushed after.

I successfully fed him his first 30ml at home. We have 3 more to go and meds this evening. While he isn't thrilled, at least he isn't as stressed as trying to pill him.

Feeding tubes save lives and I almost wished we would've done one sooner. While he has been eating some, it definitely isn't enough.

@Bron and Sheba (GA),
Again thank you for always helping all of us that truly are operating in the dark at the beginning of this journey. The assistance you provide us is invaluable. You deserve all the head bumps.

I’m so glad the tube was able to be unblocked. That is good news.
So hopefully all will go smoothly now…keep posting so we can help and support you.:)

Negative ketones strip just now. I am so happy. Finally tears of joy. I'm reluctant to celebrate just yet. Staying positive though.

Again, I will never be able to repay you for your assistance. Forever grateful for you and this group. May it carry on forever for all the babies out there that are in need. My hope is the more become aware of these things before they become your greatest nightmare.
