Good Morning Everyone, and a happy holiday weekend to all,

Rusty has a little bounce this morning. I hope he will return to those low blues soon, and maybe throw in a few greens. My sister is arriving today to spend the weekend with us, so I'm not going to adjust Rusty's dose until after Columbus Day. He had a good night sleeping between his beans, a good test, enjoyed his Wellness Turkey breakfast, had a good shot, chillaxed in his little bed by the radiator, was disturbed by the vacuum cleaner, played with his tinsel wand and bell balls, was weighed (17 lb., 1.5 oz. no change from last weigh-in--needs to lose at least 8 oz.), and now is back in his bed.

It is pouring "cats and dogs" outside. We are about to head out to the farmers' market, but will take the car this morning. "They" say it will clear by this afternoon, and we are to expect temperatures in the 30s tonight. This weekend marks the "official" end of our paddling season (but it doesn't really end until ice begins to form on the waters). On Columbus Day we will have our traditional paddle/picnic on the Bog River Flow. I'm glad my sister (who is in her mid 80s) will be doing this paddle with us again this year. She hangs in there! Tomorrow (Sunday), if weather permits, we will paddle on Lake Clear and hope to see the adult loons "rafting", getting ready to migrate to the coastal waters off New England and NY, where they winter. Last year we saw about 60 loons. If it's a crummy day, we'll just walk on the beach there and see if we can spot the loons. This is exactly the time they migrated last fall, but you never know. It could be earlier or later this year. (The juvenile loons don't go with the adults: they stick around for about a month, getting stronger, and then, by some "ancestral knowledge" make their way to the Atlantic coast, where they will spend the next 4 or 5 years before coming back to the northern lakes to seek mates and begin breeding. It is interesting that the same loons return to the same lakes every year.)

Happy Columbus Day and Happy Thanksgiving!

Morning Ella ~O) ~O) ~O)

What I would give to call a 148 a little bounce. but i know it is for Rusty - I am so used to seeing him with a nice low blue amps. I bet he is back to those great Numbers by days end. Good idea I think not to adjust a dose until all the festivities are done with for the holiday.

Enjoy the time with your sister! I think it is so cool that your sister at her age still gets out there for these paddles. SO SO COOL! :-D I hope that you will see the loons when you head on out tomorrow. Such a treat that would be. Very interesting info there. I hope you will be successful, whether via boat, or a shore walk.

Hvae a great day, despite your weather. I will send you some of our sun!

Re: 10/6 Rusty AMPS 148

Hi Ella. Great amps for Rusty. I hope he surfs the low blues all day, so you can do all the fun things, you have planned.

My husband was a Boy Scout leader, and used to take the kids out on canoes, but I don't know what lakes. His favorite part of the camping trips was listening to the loons. He recorded them, to relive at home. The sound is so haunting...even I loved it, but was not fortunate to hear them in person.

Thanks for reminding me to see if our Farmer's Market is in operation today. It's my library day, and the FM is nearby.

Have a fantastic, fun weekend with your sis. It's getting dark in the sky now....but your weather is always different than ours in the south of the state.

Beautiful amps despite the bounce Rusty! Maybe you'll abide to your bean's wishes and head in the right direction today?! Ella, I hope you have a wonderful time hanging with your sister. Its amazing that she's still paddling in her mid 80's. What an inspiration!

How wonderful to be serenaded by the call of the loons, and Rusty is green! haha_smiley

Re: 10/6 Rusty AMPS 148, +5 73

Not bad start today considering all the travels and probably even senses company is coming.
Enjoy the waters whether you can get in or not.
Hope Rusty keeps surfing like that +5...
Happy Caturday!
