Ugh, not good. I'm not used to her bouncing this long or being in the 300s outside of a blip here or there. I hope there isn't anything else going on with Bell to drive up these numbers. She's started peeing a ton again, which is tough to see. I did measure her urine for ketones this morning, which came back negative. So that's a relief.

Good you increased. I started Chai with 1/8 teaspoon psyllium powder once a day. I would try 1/4 but no higher to start. I think she just needed more juice. :bighug:

Hi Seth,

good luck with the increase! I know this rise in numbers always brings up fears and worst-case szenarios. Same here. Glad Elise made the point, she may just need more insulin at the moment. Seems sometimes it is just as simple as that. Good she has no ketones!

Have a happy Saturday and give sweet Bell a belly rub from me. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Thank you so much, Heike! Yeah I’m not used to these types of cycles so I do get a little worried. It is very nice to hear the calmness from all you folks who have been at this far longer than I have.

Hi Seth, here’s another voice in your head from me. Try to not get too crazy and just hang in there. Let’s just hope she needs a little bit more insulin. And it’s great that the ketones are under control and not an issue. they do tend to go up and down so it’s not that unusual. I think you were just used to her looking so good. Hopefully you’ll get back to that real soon.
Please give her chin scratches and hugs from me and Ivy. I hope you 3 have a great night :bighug::bighug:

Thanks so much, Staci. I think what is throwing me for a loop is that her number never got into the 300s when she was unregulated before I started insulin. My stupid brain wants to pinpoint some kind of trigger for it.

You hit it dead on. I was really hopeful that she’d remain at those greens and that we were very close to easing off dosage, so this is kinda disheartening. I need to be patient.
