Those don’t look like acne to me. My first cat had it. At the time the vet treated it with prednisolone and an antibiotic, Baytril. There was never any puss. I think if there is it might be infected. My current vet sad it’s not caused by plastic.

I can’t see the photo clearly but I also am not sure it’s chin acne. Has Herman ever had it before?

The cases I’ve seen looked like blackheads or pustules that broke open when squeezed. My vet at the time was old school and told me to pick up some Stridex acne wipes or a tube of benzoyl peroxide. He scrubbed the chin first with soap and water then followed with the wipes. An IM vet once gave me different wipes but similar instructions—clean the chin then use wipes.

Is there any chance Herman tangled with something while outside… critter, piece of metal, barbed wire, etc.?

I’m wondering whether that might be why he’s showing slightly higher BG. Hmmm.

Thanks @tiffmaxee and @JL and Chip for weighing in…..it’s a lot bigger and crustier this morning…spreading? Herman being Herman i can barely get a good look at it. It is possible he tangled with a critter. There’s no sharp metal or barbed wire he could have gotten into….but a squirrel, mouse, rat….possible. I feel like I have felt little black head like pimples on his chin before, but yes this seems to be evolving into something different, I don’t recall such scabbing over with the occasional pimple before. And while he saw green last night, todays amps is higher agin.
Aaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrraggggggghhhhhh another vet visit?

Nice to see green…it may have been a slightly fat dose this morning I was having trouble expelling the perfect size drop. also

As you can see ….tried taking pictures of his chin and failed, but did find an image on the net that looks pretty similar to what he has, and it was labelled chin acne, but who knows with the Internet. Going to give his chin another day. And see what happens and call Vet if it gets worse still.
