Good morning! Seems to be a bounce this am, but didnt see any green yesterday. Im not sure what to do concerning her insulin. I switched back to the old vial since we had more greens than that new vial that I got on Craigslist(arrived in a melted ice on a hot day). The new one brought her numbers down, but not as much as the old one. Now I am thinking of switching back :? The old one was opened on 5/22. Maybe something else going on? She hasnt been to the vet in a while, so maybe its time for a visit, although she seems fine. I just dread it because her vet isnt really fond of me going against her advice. I suppose I could have her seen by one of the other vets there, just for an exam, but wouldnt want her vet to be there and have a meltdown, which she probably would. Maybe go on her day off Speaking of day off, Im off today, so mom gets a break from testing. Have a great Caturday everyone!

i'm not sure i'd schedule a vet visit if my only concern is BGs, especially not when I had some questions about the quality of the insulin. You might address the insulin issue first (get a new pen from a pharmacy?) and then see what happens.

If you're uncertain about the insulin, I wouldn't think the vet's going to be able to give good advice.

Hi, Laura. No ideas about the insulin. Sometimes I think they throw wonky numbers at us "just because." You know, she is a cat.

Do want to send huge kudos to your mom. She is amazing. And I understand losing patience when the poke doesn't get a nice puddle of blood! I'm surprised my Polly doesn't have a bare spot on her ear from my rub-rub-rub-rub-rub before each test. And sometimes I still have to stick again.
