After we came in late to our family's house from a long car ride we tested Spencer and decided not to shoot him at 191. We fed a can of lc wet and he devoured it which is great because he has been a slow eater the last few days.

This morning he tested 111!! I expected him to be back in the 300s or 400s after NS last night, but he is being so good.

Can we assume he is making his own Insulin?

I will wait 2hours and test again to see where he is going. No food yet.

Happy Samhain everybody!

I'm not sure if this is the reason, but after we take Tigger to our family's house (roughly 1.5 hours in the car), his numbers are almost always lower than usual. He almost always hits blue while he's there and has made the trip at least 4-5 times now. He does eat less, so maybe that has something to do with it. Or maybe the stress has some weird reaction? Either way, it is odd that he is always lower after a car trip o_O

Interesting that you have observed that trend. So many factors that can affect our kitties! I figured his number was up to almost 200 after the trip because he was stressed, the last hour of the drive he started getting meowy with us - he was over it!

Tested again at +2 and he is still at 111 so I fed him. So happy he is keeping his numbers low despite no insulin right now.
