And Happy Fursday. Sending many healing vines to Ripley, Jupe, Tillie, and any others who need them. Congrats to Shadow and Rhiannon on 1 year OTJ!!!!
Tobey and Gracie have been scouring the closets for costumes to wear to the party tonight. I'll just let them dig and dig until they find something appropriate...or not
Gracie could use a party since she and Gus had a vet visit today and it was very stressful. Poor baby girl!!! However, before the appt, I was rewarded with an amazing amount of purry love.....it made me feel like a traitor when I packed her up to go. The appt was supposed to be this afternoon so I took my SUV in for an oil change. I had just gotten back when the vet's office called and wanted me to swap appointments and come in at 10 so I had to take Gus and Gracie in the 2-seat convertible sports car. I got a resounding "paws down" to my inquiry as to whether they'd like to go with the top down.
Gus is doing fantastic (anti jinx). He's looking really good and eating well. I won't go into long details here but Mike ran a free catch urine sample over to the vet yesterday as a screening to be sure Gracies high numbers were not due to UTI (if there are any wbcs or blood in sample, we do cysto and C&S). There was no UTI worry but Dr. K (not their regular vet) called and said Gracie's USG was extremely low and she had a lot of protein in her urine and it indicated renal insufficiency. As you can imagine, Mike and I were extremely upset. When I took her in to Dr. B today, she told me to take a deep breath....that those tests they do in the office with a dip stick can be inaccurate. She got a urine sample via cysto and checked it with the refractometer and it indicated Gracie's USG was nice and high and her urine was concentrated. She didn't have enough extra to look at the protein so I asked her to have the lab run a protein:creatinine ratio as that will tell us if there is any protein, if it's kidney function related. So now....we are waiting on the lab test results nailbite_smile nailbite_smile nailbite_smile If you have any extra prayers, please say one that all her lab work will be beautifully normal (although I'm sure her glucose will be up). I'm just going to wait for the most accurate tests....which is from the lab......then I can breathe.
I'm working from home this afternoon and will be back on later. Last night...I was just too upset to think about FD. I know you all understand. Have a Happy Halloweenie!!!!!
