? 10/30 Spencer AMPS 141, NS, +2 123, +3 112, PMPS 191

You don’t want to shoot an hour after food. The test will be food influenced. You either don’t feed and recheck in 20 minutes to see if going up or skip. You can also wait two hours after feeding and if high shoot but it will throw off your timing. He’s in normal numbers after skipping. The higher depot should have drained.

What do you mean by "TVs test will bd good influenced."?
I think I might go with feed, test in 2 hours and then go from there. It does push our time back quite a bit, but we can make it work. Is it a good sign that his BG is low after the basaglar depot should be drained? I feel like just the fact that he started eating lc wet food made such a big difference for Spencer!

Food influences the BG for two hours. If the pancreas is coming alive the BG comes down 2-3 hours after eating. Otherwise the BG will rise 2 hours after eating. That’s why we say no food two hours before insulin.

It’s a very good sign. His BG is currently in the normal range although still influenced from the insulin. The food change could be the reason. Please post in 2 hours after eating for advice and don’t shoot until you get a response.

He only at 1.5oz of his food (seems to be his morning appetite these days, even though he is crying at me like he is starving to death!)...might be because he is used to grazing before his diagnosis, so eating meals is not his style.

Haven't been able to post, because the server has been down!?

Spencer is low again at 129 at +2, and 2 hours after eating, at +3 he was down to 112. I don't think I will shoot him today, especially because we will be in the car for a few hours this afternoon, visiting family over the weekend.

A good decision. Drive safe.

The site has been down. It looks from your ss that you skipped. You can pick any time you want for PMPS. Think about daylight savings when you choose. Post for advice tonight if low and I hope it’s working.

I kept trying to get on and was relieved to see the NS on your ss. Safe travels.

So the drive took much longer than expected and Spencer didnt eat for about 8 hours. As soon as we arrived we checked his BG: 191. I wont shoot tonight either and pray that he stays low overnight. We will find out in the am. It is really late and I am tired, but if someone thinks that we should really shoot a bit of insulin tonight let me know. I prefer to skip tonight...

Driving for 6+hrs really takes it out of me -.-

I’m glad you arrived safely. Get some sleep and start back with insulin in the morning. Don’t be upset if he’s high in the morning. He will get back on track.
