Morning LL family,
Continued prayers for Celia and keeping BigMac in our thoughts....and any other kitty that needs healing vines...
Rocket had a good week...all things considered....i have to keep telling myself that he has multiple illnesses/issues so having a good day or hour means the world to me....
We had been on the 2.75u for a few days
DH wanted to go out for pizza last night but some gut feeling told me it was best to order in and stay put....and it was a good thing we did....
the events unfolded like this for the day
AMPS 272 (why worry...with the pred he has never dove on me like he used to)
PMPS 189 (nice blue and he is eating ...no need to worry)
+3=72 (ok i can handle this...give a little snack and he will be ok and sleep off the pred which was on board at this point now for 1 hr ....still no need to worry)
+4=58 (ok i can still handle this though he is starting to look too alert and not sleeping off the meds very little snack that was licked a couple times then he turned his nose on it...no prob i can still handle this)
+4.5=41 (no interest in food and my red alert is in full force...got karo out and rubbed it in his gums...he was starting to look funny...i'm trying to stay calm)
20 mins later (from here on i only know i'm testing every 20 mins)=
41/47/39
(still no interest in food and more karo and then 1 temptation....had the bag handy though i knew the carb would take a while to kick in and it was more meant for later as he was NOT interested in food nor gravy or anything...panic in full force)
+6=49 (dusted a temptation on top of the gravy and he finally licked it off...we are still not out of the woods just yet)
15 mins later back to 46 (he was surfing in the wrong block of numbers and he was walking funny and barely made it to go pee...panic still in full force)
+6.5=56 (getting out of the danger zone but still not happy with those numbers...he does much better in the 70s and 80s )
+7=61, +7.5=83!!!! it is now safe to go to bed....and his bupe was given late as well....
my concern was him having a gran mal seizure as the last time he went in the 50s he had a petit mal.....
today he looks tired....we are back to 2.5u and so far he is in good range all things considered....it was a rough experience and looking back i think i must have had an outter body experience....so surreal....he has not done this since starting on the pred....so i was shocked he was diving even with the pred on board...
his ears are bruised from all the poking...i'm tired and he is as well....
off to buy more food with gravy as we ran out....from having it on the shelf there are quite a few that have long expired and i do not wanna give him something that has expired....
moral of the story....don't go for pizza :lol: it wasn't so funny last night though
