Good Morning LL,

Leo sure is acting strange, i got up this morning and gave him his shot and he had a few bites of what i put down, i assumed he was being his fussy self so i plopped down another breffis and he wouldn't eat it. I went BTB and got up and he still hadn't eaten anything, i've coaxed a few bites into him but i'm wondering what is wrong? He went outside to eat some grass so i know something is up, he had a nice poop this morning too. He's acting very hyper, sharpening his claws on the couch, rolling around with his nanners and running around in the living room. Could this be his anesthetic affecting him like this? I don't think he seems nauseous but then again what do i know. I just loaded up a syringe with cerenia and thought i'd better phone the vet we saw yesterday, as i was holding for the vet Leo ate quite a bit of his breffis. I hope whatever this is is just temporary. I'm waiting for the vet to call me back and find out if she thinks its wise to give him a shot of cerenia.

His numbers are sure off as well, look at that +4!

:YMHUG: :YMHUG: I'm glad Leo is starting to eat. It could be after effects form the sedation, but I'm no expert on that.

Hi guys .. sorry to hear leo wasn't feeling up to eating this morning .. glad his appy started to turn around .. no advice on the cerenia from me, but hopefully others will chime in soon .. have a great day!

Just talked to our regular vetty, i guess the sedation meds that Leo got yesterday can cause inappetance and he should be back to normal by tonight. Whew!!!

She recommends that i decline the fine-needle aspiration, since they did not find anything on ultrasound and there are no clinical signs of anything being wrong with him. She does recommend that we do a bile acids test, to check his liver functioning. So he is booked in for that on Monday morning.

Meanwhile, now that i can relax i think i will go visit my sister in Calgary this weekend and Leo can go to his DGP's for the weekend!

Tarragon acted all crazy like that after his sedation wore off when his anal sacs ruptured. it scared the heck out of me, but it did wear off quickly. Come on down Leo! Wrong way big guy. I hope he starts eating for you. Have a great day Tracy!

Well sure enough my little buddy is eating, that darned anesthesia is wearing off! He's been royally spoiled today, eating only MC food, i hope he's not pink or red for his PMPS.

Hi Tracy, what a good report on Leo! Some kitties do seem to get more side effects from the anesthesia. So glad now you can relax and visit your sister in Calgary this weekend. Leo, you get to visit DGPa and catch some good mousies!

Great to hear that he is eating and acting more like himself! I hope your vacation is going well. Spending time with your boy is a great way to spend it. :-D
 
Hi guys,
We are so relieved that Leo is back to acting and eating normally (well, eating all those good fuds in any event!). Your vet is taking the common sense approach and that is good. Let's hope that it will all resolve itself.

Have a good time visiting your sister, and, Leo: don't eat too many mousies!
