Dang cat and his pickiness. I'm tired of typing the same thing every day. And I feel bad he is yo-yo-ing and bouncing all over because he refuses to eat properly. Just flat out refuses. I'm out of tricks and types of food. Yesterday we went from 288 to 355 to 116 in a 12 hour period. This morning, back to 346. :banghead: :arghh: I hope everyone is having a better weekend than we are.

Also Christine, did you talk to any of the experienced members about Jacks labs? I noticed his precision PSL was high and that is related to the pancreas. I KNOW VERY LITTLE… but wanted to check. My cat Lando has pancreatitis and takes cerenia to help his nausea related to pancreas issues. Just thought i would check ( because that could be causing the appetite issues)

I haven't brought it up to anyone, the vet didn't seem concerned, but I know they are not always on the same page as the reality of dealing with the diabetic cat. @Wendy&Neko has been following Jack's story, maybe there is some insight there. I have cerenia for another of my cats in the house, so it wouldn't hurt to try. I would just need some advice on how close to the insulin/food to give it...or if it even matters...Thanks for your input and pointing this out!

Well @Wendy&Neko is DEFINITELY the one to follow. I am in no way an experienced lab results reader, i just noticed a similarity to Lando. I hope you find something that works for Jack! Inappetence can be so so frustrating

I always got the Spec fPL for testing for pancreatitis. But pickiness can definitely be a sign of nausea, even if it's mild. And one of the signs of pancreatitis. More info on diagnosing and treating here: A Primer On Pancreatitis

I prefer ondansetron for nausea, but Cerenia is good for vomiting and has some anti inflammatory properties. No issues with feeding and timing, except if you want them to eat at a particular time, make sure the med is on board and working. Can take 20-30+ minutes to work, depending on med and cat.
