Good morning everyone,

Today is my birthday and Angie has given me a great birthday present of an 88 early in the morning. I would really like some prezzies in the litter tray too though.

Its been about a week since I've seen any, although she goes outside every day so might have toileted there. She didn't want to eat her 2nd breakfast - the first time refusing food ever. She wasn't very interested in food yesterday. She seems a bit lethargic, although I've got her to run a bit by carrying her into the lounge room a few times when she wanted to go out - she'd just run back to the door. I've given her olive oil but putting it on her leg but she wasn't terribly interested in licking it off - normally she'd lick like crazy if there was something foreign on her. My partner is going to the supermarket for some Vaseline.

The good part: I fed her breakfast 1 at PM+10 and at AMBG+0.5 she was 88!

Libby and Sienne - is that what you meant? I'm still confused!

Is that still AMBG if she ate 2 hours before that? Does that change the cycle start time or is the cycle start time based on when I was giving her insulin?

Yesterday and Today's Recap:
AMPS - 130, 1st breakfast, 0.1 IU insulin
+2 --- no test, 2nd breakfast - didn't eat any (or perhaps only a tiny bit)
+4.25 - 29, second test 24, 1 tsp HC food, 1 tsp HC gravy
+4.5 -- 49, 1 tsp HC gravy
+4.75 - 59, 1 tsp LC food and 1/2 tsp HC gravy
+5 --- 72, 1 tsp LC food
+5.5 - 113
+6 --- 112
+7 --- 92
+8 --- 92
+9 --- 76
+11 -- 101, 1st dinner
PMBG ?
+0.5 - 146, 2nd dinner
+6 --- 119, 3rd dinner

+10 -- 112, 1st breakfast
AMBG - ?
+0.5 - 88, wouldn't eat 2nd breakfastx

Happy Birthday, Grace! party_cat Sending appy vines, poo vines, and general feel better vines to Miss Angie. I hope she surfs green all day for you and that the vaseline will help.

Happy Birthday Grace :-D
That 88 is a very nice present from your girl. I hope she gives you some more prezzies in the LB too :)

I think AMBG means just that blood glucose in the AM, but others may say differently.

I hope you have a grand day

Re: 10/3/13 Angie AMBG=88

Happy Birthday!!

The clock starts at your usual shot time. I'd suggest trying to feed at around +9 if at all possible. It may take a little while for any rise in BG resulting from food to wear off so you want to make sure there's enough time between a snack and your AMBG test. (Although if today is any indication, a snack at +10 may not be a problem!) You gave real times in your previous condo -- I don't know when you shoot so it's best to talk in +times.

If Angie wasn't hungry for her second breakfast, I'd leave the food out. She may want to graze.

Here's the link to your condo from yesterday.

Re: 10/3/13 Angie AMBG=88 +4.5=121

Thanks for the birthday wishes and LB vines.

I got Angie to eat the Vaseline with her second breakfast but I forgot to test before she ate. She ate at +4. Her BG at +4.5 is 121 so that would be a food spike wouldn't it?

+9 would be 3 am, AMBG is 6 am. I can do that for a while. Is this an experiment or is this going to be a permanent pattern?

Happy birthday!

Most likely this is a food spike. Angie seems to spike quite a bit from food. Can you test again 3-4 hours after that test?

Is this an experiment or is this going to be a permanent pattern?
I wish I knew! I was actually only suggesting the experiment for last night, but since it went well it seems like a good idea to continue and see how things go today. I'm basically trying to wrap my head around Angie's responses to carbs so I can figure out a) whether she still needs a small dose of insulin, and b) what would be the best feeding pattern to try to make those lingering high numbers come down, with or without insulin.

Re: 10/3/13 Angie AMBG=88 +4.5=121 +6.5=108

4 hours after last food she's at 68 (+8). I'll give her first dinner in 1 hour at +9.

Re: 10/3/13 Angie AMBG=88 +4.5=121 +6.5=108 +8=68

This is the plan for the moment:

+9 test, breakfast 1 (3 am)
AMBG test, breakfast 2 (6 am)
+ 3 test, breakfast 3 (9 am)
+ 6 test if home (12 pm)
+9 test, dinner 1 (3 pm)
PMBG test, dinner 2 (6 pm)
+ 3 test, dinner 3 (9 pm)

Am I understanding right?

Once I get a job, I will need to adapt it though.

Re: 10/3/13 Angie PMPS=88

I'm very happy with Angie's numbers today (but still no LB prezzies) and her lovely numbers could be partly because she hasn't eaten as much.

Today's Recap:
+10 -- 112, 1st breakfast
AMBG - ?
+0.5 -- 88, wouldn't eat 2nd breakfast, olive oil
+4.5 - 121, 3rd breakfast with Vaseline
+6.5 - 108
+8 --- 68
+9 --- 77, 1st dinner (ate half), with Vaseline
PMBG - 88, 2nd dinner (ate half)

I'm going to take her to the vet in the morning if there's no LB action by then.

Re: 10/3/13 Angie PMPS=88

Happy birthday Gracie! I hope you get some nice prezzies in the LB from Angie tonight. Her numbers are looking just beautiful!

If you didn't give insulin tonight, then your subject line should read PMBG 88 (blood glucose instead of pre shot). Day one of the trial is looking great!
