Thanks Wendy, Pam and Mariko for the visits last night. Papaya did a bit of a bounce but it's gone by this morning and we have nice blue again, not dropping too dramatically so far.

As I mentioned yesterday, I wanted to try leaving food nearby between AMPS at 4:30 AM (ugh!) and when I get up for work at 7:30 to see if Papaya would eat it on her own and save me having to get up in between at 6:00 AM to feed her another portion. This is how it went this morning:

4:30 Papaya cleans plate, gets shot
4:32 I put down another portion of food on the shelf adjoining the bed and turn out the light
4:33 Papaya decides dessert has been served, and plods stomps plomps her way over to the food to polish it off as well
4:35 - 4:45 Papaya celebrates all that deliciousness by loudly slurping clean every inch of fur she owns . . . twice

So yeah that was kind of a fail. I think two things were working against me, though - she was unusually hungry (usually she will just politely leave a tiny bit of food still on the plate. I used to have a grandmother who did that, too!) but today she licked it clean for the first breakfast. Also, she usually gets chicken flavour but I had just opened a can of a fishy flavour, so I guess it was extra tempting to eat it all at once! Since she had eaten so much, though, I just slept through to 7:30 and happily the lack of a middle meal doesn't seem to have resulted in a dive. I'm going to keep trying this for a while and see how it goes!

Hi guys .. Nice numbers papaya! Too funny on her slurping all her fur after her fuddies! Mocha does that as well, eats and bathes .. goes hand in hand I guess! Have a great day guys!

This is too funny.
I hope this works with a little less tempting food.

I can't get Lucy to eat on her own either!

Hi Devon, Mariko and Carla! Thanks for coming by!

Papaya did a nice slide all the way down to a green PMPS. Now I am really hoping for some flatness!

Re: 10/29 Papaya AMPS=176 +3.5=118 PMPS=70

That sure made me laugh   I had the same problem leaving food out for Chyna, she slurps it all up, even if she leaves a little it doesn't usually take long for her to go back to finish it. Even catsicles, she will lick the crap out of it till she eats it all, frozen or no :? I had to get an autofeeder to get those meals separated  And the fur slurping after, I hear you. She sits on her cat ramp next to my pillow after her 4am autofeeder goes off and bathes loudly, good thing I have earplugs if I need them ;-) Hope it will all go well for you at the 4:30am (gack) feeding! Great PMPS Papaya, keep it nice and safe surfing now

Wow Papaya, looking great  Nice slide, but now you can slow your roll and surf for awhile ;-)
Amy, that is just too funny  I love how you had a Grandmother who did that  I wish I would do that
Better luck tonight :thumbup

Hi Rachel! I can just imagine Chyna going at those catsicles  Papaya is a bit unpredictable (what's new  ) with whether she eats what I leave out during the day or not, so I'll keep trying a self-serve second breakfast and see what happens.

Papaya always does an extra thorough slurpy bath after anything fishy . . . having fishy flavour on her tongue must be the equivalent of our scented shower gel!

Hi Pam! She's drifting up into higher blue tonight, it looks like, so it isn't going to be the late night I was expecting. She's had quite a nice blue day!

Congratulations Amy & Papaya on that nice dip in the Lagoon

   Sure enjoyed Papaya's dining adventures story! Sounds like you have a good plan, but need to work the bugs out - & this morning Papaya was happy to oblige! Better luck on the next go-round!

Not a bad day for Papaya!! Double breakfast and all!

You do remember the handbook don't you? You must never allow your bean to know what your next move is!!
