Good Morning LL

Checkers ate well today. He's a bit slow, probably from the day after day rain and gloom. It's not major rain yet, just that it drizzles for days on end. I am headed out to the clinic, for bupe for him.
He has 2 doses left, but I am one of those people who runs to the store to stock up on milk and bread, when storms threaten.

We are not in the path of the storm, but we are being warned of HIGH wind, and heavy rain. Starting tonight.
We're being told to not be complacent about it.
Yesterday, the stores were jam-packed with people buying supplies, in case we are out of power for days..and we're well away from the bad stuff.
Unfortunately, wind takes down the trees with shallow, rain soaked roots, which take down power lines with them.

I'm off now, will be back later to catch up on everybody.

Good luck with the shopping. I hope your stores have more supplies than ours do :smile:

Stay safe Barb and Checkers! We have CNN on at all times where I work. I keep watching the news reporters out in the storm practically getting blown away and completely pelted by rain! They look so miserable. I don't know why we need to do that to those poor journalists. Be careful over there!

Checkers is looking good this morning for a rainy day. Good idea to get the extra bupe, who know if the clinic will be open later. Stay safe and dry.

Oh geez Barb it sounds like it could get scary there, i hope you and the kitties stay safe and with power!

Not bad numbers for Checks today, i hope the bupe helps to bring him back into better numbers.

I don't blame you for going out and getting more bupe for Checkers. I would too. I hope you don't lose your power, but you never know. It is good to be prepared. I'll be praying for you to stay safe.

Glad you got supplies - even way away from the storm places get affected by runoff and whatnot.

About losing your post ... that has happened to me a few times to and GRRR I agree!

Here's what I do ... if I am writing a long post or something I don't want to lose, I SAVE the CONTENTS of the post before I hit Preview or Submit. On a PC ... You can use your mouse to highlight all the text and right-click-copy, or if you like keystrokes, CTRL-A highlights all the text, then CTRL-C copies it to a buffer. If something happens, you can just paste it back in, or start a new post and paste it in. That saves so much stress, that I do the keystrokes all the time for everything, like word processing docs, spreadsheets, etc.

Hi Barb and Checkers. I've been thinking of you both with the storm and winds and rain. That's very smart stocking up. I would do the same. I keep just a few days of food in the house, so I would need to do some serious shopping if something happened here. Now the cat's supplies are different, always stocked up! :lol: Glad yoi got the bupe. Vines for staying safe and no power outages. Scritches to Checkers Tux and Cleo. I bet I got your last :? civvie mixed up with another Bean.

Good thing you got your supplies and, more important, Checkers' bupe!! We have most of what we need (we always stock supplies because the weather up here is unpredictable), but today I thought I'd go and get some extra D batteries and they were all sold out in 3 different stores!! Well, we have enough back-ups in any event: candle lanterns, oil lamps, flourescent lanterns with good batteries, etc. And the temperature is such (not warm and not freezing) that if we have an extended power outage we can keep Rusty's insulin on the front porch.

Stay safe. I talked with Roni and they are fine (report is in Rusty's condo).

sorry to be so late barb. I hope all is well there, and very glad you have all your supplies. I would have done the same, have in the past. Good luck - stay safe.
