This weekend

Very strange seeing the difference between Charlie's +10 last night and her AMPS, which was just 2 hours later. I did brush her in between a bit and she didn't like that so I stopped. Maybe that raised her number due to stress? Or she's just bouncing because last night we gave her insulin. Over the weekend, she only got 1 shot on Friday morning (.5 units), 1 on Saturday morning (.5 units) and 1 when we got home on Sunday night (a skinny .75). See link above for reasons why. It didn't quite work out with the cat sitter getting near Charlie for pokes.

Hard to leave for work today for both of us knowing she had a stressful weekend, but we will be home with her later to catch up on lost time. On the plus side, Charlie was real snuggly this morning and that cuddle is going to get me through this work day.

"Tell me why I don't like Mondays?"

Probably a bounce. charlie needs to refill her shed which is probably totally drained, things will get better as it fills and things get back to normal in her world.

It's nice that you got some snuggles this morning with Charlie. It is hard to leave them some days to go to work. There are many days I wish I could work from home. I hope you have a good day.

Oh that brush. I haven't done a test with that yet to see how much of an affect that would have. My girl hates getting brushed.
I was thinking of trying the treat method to see if I could get her to change her mind.

I read all the difficulties your sitter had. I know I would have had the same issues and leaving her at the vet would have been even worse,
caged and refusing to eat anything at all. That's definitely between a rock and a hard place.

Sounds like Charlie is already happy that you are back and she'll get back on track when her shed catches back up and life is "normal" again.

Thanks for the encouragement everyone. Vets in Holland do not board sick animals, so this was really our only option. I hope it will go better next time. Charlie is much happier now that we're home. Hope the numbers show progress soon.
