I was away all weekend and took Tidus with us. Something is not right. He is now up to 6u and the more I'm INCREASING his insulin the HIGHER his numbers are going???

His SS is up to date. Can someone advise?

Jenn:

This is a very flat yellow SS. Once a cat starts getting to doses over 6.0u, we suggest getting blood work sent out to rule out a high dose condition (i.e., insulin resistance/insulin autoantibodies or acromegaly). Your vet will need to send blood to the lab at Michigan State University. There's information in this post on how to get the testing done. Tidus is not at an extremely high dose. We've seen cats at this dose, or close to, do a turn around. However, I think it is wise to get the tests done so you know what you're may or may not be dealing with.

(((Jenn)))Sienne is right...just get the tests done and then you will know what you are dealing with.

Cindys Tip went up to 6.75u and then came rushing down. It's possible Tidus is a high dose kitty or its possible its just taking him time to get to his fitting dose.
