Last night I got caught up on my sleep :)
J.D. is coming down from his bounce nicely, and the kitties seem so excited about the upcoming storm.
We have gone for a couple long walks this morning. We even almost had a nice sunrise this morning. Must be the winds clearing out all the pollution a little bit. There was a touch of blue sky and a bit of orange on the horizon.

I let J.D. have a few of Ginger's Catnip flavored Temptations on our walk, because I'm a bad mommy and he loves them and I think it got him to walk more, and I want him to walk more. I don't like the way his bones on his back can be felt. Today, he seems energetic, and has only eaten one breffis so far. I gave him his Pepcid at AMPS, and I finally gave him some Ondansetron at +2.5 and he immediately ate afterwards. Well, I think I gave him the Ondansetron. I wrapped it up (kind of rolled it) in a piece of steak, and he happily ate the steak, but I found what looked like the slice of pill on the deck where I fed him, and put that piece of white back in his mouth.

Alls quiet so far as far as the wind goes. The squirrels have never had so many peanuts.

J.D. is starting to love to be spoon fed from a can. He thinks it's a treat. Silly cat. I've been giving it to him occasionally as testing treats yesterday and this morning. I guess it's special ;-)

Next Saturday, Novemer 3rd, we're going to celebrate J.D.'s 18th Birthday a day early, as that's my only day off next week, and on his birthday November 4th he's going to be under my desk at work with me...boring (for him).
So, I'll be ordering him a nice cooked lobster tail from the grocery store, again this year. He doesn't like toys anymore (what's he like 86 in human years?), but does love his fish, especially lobster.
I hope all the kitties will plan to be at his party, to share in the lobster feast :-D

WOO HOO! A birthday party for JD! and 18??? how cool is that. that is wonderful. :-D :-D :-D very very cool that he will have lobster tail on his birthday. JD you are one very lucky kitty.

Morning you guys! Nice plans for J.D.'s birthday! It gives us a whole week to anticipate the fun! yay!
Glad you had such a nice morning...hope your day goes well too... (my DS's birthday is Nov 4th too!)

Everyday I hand feed my eldest Tiger his lunch with his special canned treat. The rest? Can only watch him eat from mummy's hand. This makes him so happy, eat more & look forward to this meal. :lol: :lol:

Okay, I guess I'll admit it to myself. I am a little anxious about this storm. What if we really do loose power? I quickly went to Home Depot, and bought their last little flashlight (which comes with little batteries).
I guess I should try to find a battery for my meter too, just in case. But, I'll have to wait until J.D. starts to rise.

I bought some of those little teeny tea light candles. What do you put them in or on? Maybe in a wine glass, would that work? I want something to raise the light up, not just set it on the coffee table or counter.

I'm getting a little nervous, too....although I hate to admit it!

For the tea lights, they'll be fine in any sort of glass - they don't get very hot. A wine glass would be fine...just gotta make sure no kitty tails swat it over!

Stay safe...it hasn't hit yet, so maybe it won't hit at all - right?? I hoping all the hype is going to cause it to turn into nothing....

You need to be very careful with candles -- especially with cats around. There are any number of house fires during power outages due to use of candles. Make sure they are away from any place a tail could be near. I would see if you can find a lantern.

You are so wonderful to get J.D. lobster for his birthday. I'm just grinning from ear-to-ear over what a great present that is!!

Hi Dyana, sending good thoughts and stay safe vines. You could also try the saucer plates from coffee cups . I like the idea of a wine glass, too. I also have some of those tea lights.
On the party, Maggie's ready and looking forward to it and is lining up first for a slow dance with J.D. :-D

Nice numbers for JD today in a pre celebration of his 18th birthday!!! WOW JD!!!!

Keeping you all in our prayers as the storm moves in your direction. Even though we have them for ambiance and not necessity, I bought a bunch of the LED fake candles just to put around the house on occasion or put in lanterns outside for parties.

He is so cute. I heard him making noises and found him at the base of the tree out front with a squirrel that he had just chased up. I told him what a good boy he was, and he kept doing it.

My neighbors put tape on their sliding glass door. I guess I have to go buy tape, now. Back to Home Depot..
 
Hi Dyana - looking forward to J.D.'s 18th birthday - lucky boy to get a lobster! At that age, boy, give them whatever they want and if that's a lobster, then they deserve it. And it has to be spoon fed of course! :lol: :lol: :lol:

Yeah, I'm nervous about the storm too. The generator is hooked up to the sump pump or our basement will flood. Do you have an emergency box of supplies for the kitties if something were to happen and you had to leave at night without electricity on? I have a crate with all Leo's stuff (which is easy because we travel now) and his crate and harness are on top and ready.

Leo knows the storm is coming too. He's not eating much, which is 1) very usual and 2) extremely unusual with BGs in the 400s. He'll spend the storm under my bed I think. My work was cancelled tomorrow too (well, it's work-from-home now).

I'd advise against tea lights in wine glasses. They look nice but the glasses are easy to knock over. Try a water/drinking glass to keep tails and other stuff out if you have to use candles.

Be safe and post updates when you can.

Stopping in to check in on your guys......JD looks pretty good, Dyana.....showing some greens AND chasing squirrels! You really can't ask for to much more!
Storm coming....I'm hoping things will be ok with you. As far as candles go, I think it would be much safer to have a battery operated lantern around. You can find them in the camping sections. Although they aren't calling for as bad as weather that you will be getting, they are calling for high winds and lots of rain. My camping gear will come in very handy! I have propane lanterns, battery lanterns, propane crock pot, propane skillet, propane coffee pot and a propane griddle. If worse comes to worse, I can utilize the garage (detached) to use as the kitchen, lol! I even had a marathon cooking day yesterday so that I have meals that just need to be heated up....just in case!

Anyway, sending you safe vines and wishing for the best!
