Re: 10/28 Gabby AMPS~220, +2~213
For those of you that didn't see my note, when I picked up my last box of Lantus, there was a less than helpful person at the hospital pharmacy that is allowed to handle drugs. When he was packing up the box, he shook it in order to get it into bag #1. He then bounced it into bag #2 while at the same time, banging in on the counter. The entire time, my voice is rising and telling him to stop damaging the insulin. The first pen wasn't so bad but I was suspicious given how Gabby's numbers were looking but it's Gabby so it was hard to know if this was her or the insulin. The new pen threw her numbers all over the place. I asked Jill to see if she could make sense out of the numbers and she couldn't either. I figured the lovely person at the pharmacy was the cause of the problem. When I called over and spoke with the lead pharmacist, after a rather heavy sigh, I was informed I wasn't the first person who had a problem of this type and to bring the unopened Lantus over and they'd swap it out. So, if anyone wants to see what a response to toasty Lantus looks like, even without floaties in the solution, look at Gabby's numbers from the last several days.
