Got more questions???
Spent the last 30 mins going over his SS since 7/23 when he started the Lev. On the few times I gave the R, which you know should be in and out in about 4 hrs. It seems as though it causes the Lev to have a faster onset. It should be gone long before Lev onset. When using the R with Lantus, it kicked in, lowered, climbed, and by +4 would be about 100 points lower than the PS reading for the lantus to grab onto. It looks to me like the Lev is grabbing it at the same time. I can't be sure, I'm used to using the R, so I don't test every hour after I give it because I know how it effects him, but that was with Lantus. If I have to give it with the Lev again, I'm going to do the hourly tests to see the difference. It could very well be that it does NOT preform the same with Lev, since whatever insulin I'm giving is still in the depot maybe it reacts differently by lasting longer than 4 hrs or with Lev it may cause a quicker onset. But even if that's the case, he will still be lower almost the entire cycle rather than nadiring about +10.
I hope someone with experience can understand what I'm trying to say. I know there are very few with R experience to begin with and I don't know anyone that uses it with Lev.
I may have to start keeping some kind of blog, just to have this info for others that may end up in the same situation, since I can't find any info on it anywhere. We'll be a Science study! :thumbup Lord knows, we need all the facts we can get since most vets are pretty much clueless.
Plus, I'd never remember it if I don't write it down.
Any ideas or thoughts on this?
