@Diane Tyler's Mom i picked up the Relion Premier yesterday. I’ve been comparing readings just a couple of times and the Relion reads much higher with what seems like more variance (on the same drop of blood). I think since I’m used to his numbers on the Contour I’ll stick with it but very glad to have the Relion as a backup. I’m hoping my errors were just a bad batch of strips but I’ll probably need to switch if it keeps happening. I think they’ve all been happening on some strips I got from a cheaper online vendor. Makes me wonder…

Always good to have a backup. Another nice cycle today :bighug::bighug::bighug::cat:

@Bandit's Mom
Today I had an appointment around +5, so since he was at 58 at +4, I gave him about 2Tbs of MC when I left at +4.5 When I checked him at +6.5, he was in the same range at 60. Is it common for MC to just keep them flat? Or should I expect him to go up a bit with MC? I’m wondering if the MC I gave was enough. Thanks for your insight when you have time to get back. :bighug:

It's possible that he might have dropped lower without MC and the carbs helped keep him flat. He was flat between +3.25 and +4, so MC may have been enough.

How carbs affect the numbers depends on the cycle, how carb sensitive the kitty is and when in the cycle the carbs are fed. Earlier in the cycle, carbs can keep numbers from diving and flatten the curve. Later in the cycle, especially after the nadir, when the insulin action is on the wane, carbs can reduce duration and get numbers to go up sharply.

Loving all that green on his SS. :D I'm can imagine how sleep-deprived you are!:bighug:

Thanks, that makes sense.

Oh, yes I am a zombie!

I’m so happy for the greens and owe a lot to you for helping us get here! I hope restful nights are in sight.
