Good morning. Just posted Apollo's AMBG 117.

For his AM feeding gave him Merrick's Before Grain Turkey. After he took a few bites and lost interest I added some parmesan cheese to see if it would help him eat a little more. He ate a bit more, but nothing major. So onto the next food.

Question: Does anyone know of any low carb food that is NOT a pate? I'm really starting to think he just hates the mush consistency/texture of the pate. I would like to try a more chunky low carb food (if it exists). Something like the FF Appetizers, but nutritionally balanced.

Fancy Feast Chunky Chicken (5% cal. from carbs.) is less pâté-like. It's not quite the texture of the FF appetizers but not as mushy as the Fancy Feast classic flavors.

One caveat is that I don't believe Chunky Chicken is gluten free. Gluten is ok as long as your kitty doesn't have allergies. My kitties love Chunky Chicken (dark green label).

Every once in a while I will feed them FF Roasted Chicken but it is around 10% cal. from carbs, so I am careful not to offer it very often.

Both of those foods have a better texture, especially the Roasted Chicken (bright red label.)

Hi guys .. nice start to the day .. To bad on the new fuds not working out .. I feel like parmesan cheese makes everything better  We feed mushy foods here in this house .. mocha has lost quite a few teeth due to FORL's and I think she likes lapping her food up .. Have a great day!

Morgaine is currently eating Pro Plan Turkey and Giblets. It is a bit chunky. It does have wheat gluten and 6% carbs. It is also lower in fat which is why she is eating this but she is very picky and seems to chow down on this. She also likes the FF roasted chicken, also a lower fat food with 10% carb. I think the pro plan turkey is chunkier.

Apollo's PMBG is 105.

We tried the Avoderm Chicken Chunks Entree in Gravy for PM feeding. He ate about half a 3oz can, which was decent. He did eat a FF Appetizer earlier in the day, so he probably wasn't starving for dinner. I will see how much he grazes on it over the next hour or so.

Thanks for all the food recommendations. I picked up a few that I could find here in town and will see if I can buy a few others online to try.

I got a lot of good input on the topic I posted in the main forum as well.
