    Good Morning LL! I guess Tess just decided my hair isn't gray enough, snowy white would be good. I held the dose, but started a new cartridge this morning. We used the old one for 33 days. If she jumps back up again I'll take her back to her favorite fat .5u. :YMSIGH: Spot apparently stopped by and loaned her a pair of zippy pants this morning.

    Marjorie, Ella, Michelle, Tena thanks for the encouragement last night. That return to pink was so frustrating I couldn't stand to post, plus we were pretty busy getting DH packed for his trip. I wonder if she knows something is up? She took off and hid under the bed when we went out to do some shopping yesterday. I think DH had just taken his suitcase out to the guest room too. Hmmmmm.....

    WCR 4 Ps and 2 breffis down. It's finally light out so window guarding is in process.

She always acts so surprised when I come back home.... :lol:

Glad to see that low yellow this morning. I know ho9w you feel when you see those pinks...but, glad they are gone now....hope you have a wonderful day Ann! :razz:

Oh really, Miss Tess? :o Fed 8% and will test again in half an hour. I tested late because of getting ready, Tess is definitely sure something is up.We have to leace for the airport in an hour, but I shouldn't be gone much longer than half an hour. Unfortunately, I then have to take my mom out for a couple of hours. Maybe Tess will get to go on a picnic, that should bring her up.

+3 and Tess is 71. She is eating some 12% MaxCat kitten. Hadn't eaten anything since test before. Have to take DH to airport now. Back in about 30.

Whew! 103 @ +4. Way too many variables to know what is going on:
  • *Tess adjusted to the dose;
    *the old cartridge was toasty, but it seems rather soon to have had this much effect;
    *Tess reacts to stress backward, why not she does everything else that way;
    * The rise was a food spike, so she may go back down. I have no idea when she last ate in relation to this last test, there were 3 unfinished breffis out when I left, one was clean up when i got back.

.......... Just tested again and there must have been food influence because she was down to 87 @ +4:30, and the food in the other 2 bowls was gone so probably still some food influence. I may still have to take her, back at +4.

So glad to see green numbers for Tess, again. I know you are relieved. yay new cart!!! Also know it's going to be a rough while John is gone but
we're all here for moral support...sorry we can't be there to help with all the things John does. I know Tess will miss him...and you,too, Ann!

Ok Tess, this is a good place to surf. Probably more carbs than she needed this morning, but better safe..... BTW I ended up giving her 9% Wellness pouch Turkey and Duck. The Pouches are about the only Wellness she really likes. Of course several are not on J&B list so another call. :YMSIGH: I'll try to catch up on condos tonight, it was a hectic morning. I guess that's what Tess picked up on. We usually don't move too fast in the morning. :roll:

There was a note on Supply closet about free samples of Prowl freeze dried raw food. I asked for a sample and asked about carbs. We'll see what they say.

Mannie, Two days in a row! You rescued me two days in a row. Thank you so much for bringing me back from the pinks yesterday, you kind of go into a trance up there don't you. And that HC snack today made mom change her mind about the car! I knew something was up this morning, I think ... I think dad's gone! confused_cat :cry: :cry: At least mom came back so it was safe to eat my food, no rationing. -- Tess

wow - quite the morning for you... busy! no doubt Tess picked up on it all. Mine usually do and heaven forbid if the suitcase enters the scenario. :lol: even with all that going on she managed a decent curve so far. :-D

Tess! pack your day pack! We are on our way - I got lots of kitties with me. we are going driving, and to visit Moonie so she can ride in the roadster. It is a perfect time to plan our Halloween costumes. and I need to start planning the halloween menu :shock: see you soon! and don't worry - your papabean misses you too. we will take care of you so you don't get too lonely and stuff. ~~ Mannie

Ann....RE: Prowl...my vet carries this and I looked at it and talked to the company. Carbs are very high....about 16%. I've attached the nutritional info sheet. I plugged the numbers into Janet's calculator and came up with same...about 16% for % calories from carbs...and that is when it is reconstituted. I thought it would be a great alternative...maybe a good one for those +9 snacks until I saw the carbs.

Could you remind me please what injection site you use on Tess....scruff, chest, belly, etc.? Thanks, Ann.

Celi, the last couple of day her numbers made me feel like heaving, but yes I meant leave. I actually got several errands run, in between coming back to check on Tess.

Marjorie. I give her shot just behind the shoulder blades, so i guess it would be a flank shot. The Prowl actually lists the dry matter percentages and lists carbohydrates as a little over 9%. However, their percentages do not add up to 100. There is another 9% floating out there somewhere. I've found that several of the companies that I have called try to pass off the Guaranteed Analysis as As Fed. They seem incapable of seeing that you cannot add indefinite numbers and get an actual result. What was the other cpmpany that you said told you that their GA numbers were actually As Fed?

Libby, yes she does like to drive me to the point of tearing my hair out before she settles in.

For Pete's sake - Tess sure keeps her mama hopping. I got so used to seeing green numbers for Tess, I do a double take when I see your subject line. I hope you won't have to be up all night with the hubz out of town.

and again, first time I haven't been able to budge her. It must have been the cartridge. Gave her 18%

We're fine , Tess came into my lap to let me know it's OK, besides it's only 8:30 here and her nadir is really early.

what I would give for an early nadir - Mannie's isn't til about +6... sometimes it's even been +7. well glad all is well there. snuggly kitties always help.

Guess the 18% worked, up to 52, fed some 12%. It will probably be about time to test again by the time I finish this.

Celi, I've been a bit absent last couple of days too. Lots going on and I tend to curl up in the fetal position when Tess goes high. :lol:

I love the early nadir, myself. It does really well with my work schedule and usually lets me sleep at night because my bedtime check is about then. Hope you get some rest tonight since your relief pitcher is out of town.

Technically not really different, I fed some 15% anyway. This is the highest carb I have ever had to feed her! :shock:

I talked to DH just before the first green. He's in the air nowm but maybe I should leave a voice mail to let him know what he missed! :lol: Actually he's not getting too much sleep tonight either. The storm really messed up connections and he'll have to spend the night in the Mpls. airport until his shuttle is running again.

bummer on the airport stay...i got caught at DFW once in an ice storm :shock: ...and was there for 37 hours..no comfort anywhere in the airport except the bar...
