Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh....... mega good! TJ's dunking cookies and Cronuts too!
I hope everyone had a great Furday. Mine was so busy and so crazy, but we all had a great time. It was another foggy start for us here yesterday - I lost count on how many of those in a row, something close to 12 I think where we were totally socked in her at home. After a busy morning, full of William and Nicholas things, and lots of master building efforts, we got down to business. Nicholas wanted to go and see the salmon at the Skykomish River in Index. The weather there was more favorable than elsewhere, so off we went. It was cool, but fog-less, so good to go once we got there. Most of the salmon have completed their run, so we didn't see nay live ones. just alot of ones that have ended their journey. Nicholas is funny - he was just as fascinated with the dead ones as he was with the live one. ;-) The river is still low enough that he could venture out a ways, see more of the salmon, explore teh river bed dome. William seemed to like the time there too - so alert and attentive to what was going on. He sure did watch what his brother was doing.
We ate lunch on the banks of that river, from the seats in the car, door open. We were about 2 feet from the river there. Very cool! What a great time. We had intended to visit the town of Skykomish as well, see some trains, but by the time I hit the road both boys were asleep in the back seat.
 On the way up to the River, Nicholas saw 5 trains traveling those rails, so all was good, and I didn't feel too bad that he missed the afternoon ones. We went home after that, boys slept the drive, 1.5 hours. Last night at 5, after I dropped William off with his dad Nicholas and I went swimming. WOW on those PM swims! He was so energized and excited to be there, played very very hard, and really had the best of times. He was watching some of the older kids while in the "hot tub" doing standing dives from within the pool. He thought that was so cool, and did his first head first "dive' into the water from the seated area of the tub. So so excited he was. I love it when he does something new: the smiles on his face are endless. Picassa links: Skykomish River and Swimming. I enjoy traveling with the boys. Nicholas is the best back seat driver, ever.  The chatter is non-stop, endless. On the way home from the pool last nght, a 40 minute drive, he told me a story, a 40 minute non-stop story. It was all about his day, the day of his brother, and his friends, and things he new and saw, all elements interconnected. it was awesome: all from the mind of a two year old: imaginative, funny, full of innocent truisms... The Many Faces of Travel.

It is oddly quiet here this morning.... too quiet.... the calm before the storm? More like the calm after the storm.... It seems this is the norm every Caturday... hmmmm... somehow I remember writing this last Caturday too. Lola... oh Lola...has been at it again. I had planted some cuttings I had rooted in water, into a big pot, lots of fresh dirt, set it where I thought it would have a chance to grow. Yesterday morning before I headed out to get the boys I hear this big CCCCRRRRR---ASHHHHHHHH! Yupp, she had gotten into it, way up high and set it flying onto the floor. Massive piles of dirt everywhere, plant upside down... well you get the picture. So in my haste, thinking I'll fix it up later, I scooped up the dirt, the cuttings and quickly planted the starts, set the pot on the table. well.... you can imagine, came home later to find that she had dug out ALL the dirt, set the cuttings flying, pot once again upside down.... WHAT A MESS!        Guess what I get to do today.... Lola, Lola, Lola.... Other than that - what good kitties! bug has been super affectionate, my snuggle bunny. Elsa too! She spent last night/evening on my lap. Lola is curled up on mine as I type this condo. I can see that look in her eyes.... dirt? what dirt?    YUPP! Normalcy in MusketeerVille!!
Have a great day everyone. it is a for sure catch up day here: shopping, errands, laundry and some cleaning. And recovery time. I thoroughly enjoyed having both boys these past three days, but need some regroup time.  So that shall be today. That and an afternoon walk, to the shore I hope!
