We will have the cat sitter give .5 units. It seems low risk thus far, but as we have seen in the past, who really knows with Charlie?

Have a great weekend everyone. Wish Charlie safety this weekend.
Jill

HI Jil

Nerve wracking, leaving the kitties. Paws crossed that Charlie is fine. Everything will be ok - you made your plans for Charlie and that's all you can do, so anti-stress vines to you.

Lisa

Thanks Lisa and Melissa. We will try our very best. I already feel worried about her, I must admit. I woke up in the middle of the night at 4AM and gave Charlie a big, long cuddle. Guilt, I tell you. Thank God someone will be at the house to check her out.

HI Jill-
Prayers for the weekend. We've not had to get a sitter yet since Fur Ball was diagnosed but I must admit I already am concerned about what we'll do. We are so grateful he is OTJ but who is going to want to do the feeding cycles.

Charlie- be safe for mamabean and love her up when she gets home.

Karen

Karen,

WOW. Just looked at furball's SS and I think you win the world record for the shortest amount of time before getting off the juice. Really, really cool. Congratulations, guys. I wish I could have someone come to the house just for feeding times! We have prepared an entire kit. Our instruction manual is 3 pages long with emergency contact information, instructions, etc.

We even prepared a sample syringe using soy sauce (the darkest thing we could find). I told Lona that I really hope the cat sitter doesn't accidentally inject Charlie with soy sauce. Haha. Though it is the low salt version so that's good.

Thanks Marje and Ann. We are a little bit nervous, and hoping that a glass of wine will help. Little Charlie is with her new friend right now already. Lets hope she will be on her best behavior!

We'll miss her a ton though, I must admit.
Jill

Bit sad tonight after receiving this text message from the cat sitter:

"Hi jill, charlie is very scared, she kept on hissing so i played with her for a while as you told me. She wouldnt let me do the blood test, i think it was too much "in her face". So i gave her the food and she ate a little, but didnt let me touch her. So i was unable to give her the shot as well. I am going to try my best again tomorrow morning, i hope she is more willing by then."

I feel so guilty having left her there.

so sorry to hear this Jill. You are doing the best you can. Lets just hope Charlie settles in tomorrow. Probably too much new. Try and relax and enjoy your weekend.

Thanks for looking at Fur Ball. I know there are some that have moved more quickly, but we really are thrilled with where he's at. I just got home from work and right now he is throwing his little mousey around. He has 4 of them and they were all under the couch. He just goes crazy when I 'recover' them for him.

hang in there.
Karen

Jill try to enjoy your weekend. You've done the best you can with getting a sitter and getting the instructions ready. Sometimes we have to do things for ourselves too. I hope Chrarlie settles down for the sitter tomorrow.

Well Jill, not all cats allow other people to touch them. My cats will go hide on the ceiling cat walk whenever any stranger walk in the door  Dont worry, Charlie will come down on his bg. Just need a bit of time.

Another bad evening. Text message from cat sitter:

"Hi jill, i was here tonight with my mother (who is a professional pet psychologist) to get some help with giving the shots. Charlie is too scared and wont eat when im here. She is also unapproachable even with the help of my mom. So it is not possible to give her the shot. i've been here for almost 1,5hour and she wont cooperate. She wont make it possible to help her and we don't want to traumatize her. For the next weekend you will be going away i want to come and practise with you to handle her."

Makes me a bit sad.
Jill

Jill, I'm so sorry to hear about the troubles the pet sitter is having. If only we could explain to our cats that this is for their own good. My Shasta is an only child and ONLY loves me, so I just know that no one can give her shots but me. Blessings to you and to Charlie. Hope that sweet girl will be ok until you get home. ((hugs))

I'm sorry to hear about the problems the petsitter is having. I hope Charlie is okay when you get home and you can work things out for next time with the petsitter.

Arrived home safely to a few piles of throw up. Charlie mist have been really stressed over the weekend. Gave her a skinny .75 as her number was 346 at PMPS. Tested again at +2 and she was 306. Goodnight guys. I'll start a new thread tomorrow. Too tired from the travel. Charlie was happy to ser us and seems to be calming down now. Copenhagen was beautiful.

Enjoy your Sunday,
Jill
