10/25 Smudge: AMPS 68, +1.5 56, +2 64, +2.5 66, +4 72, PMPS 68, +1.5 72, +2.5 71

He's actually a little higher than his AMPS, 72 @ +4, which is unusual. I'm wondering if his irritated eye is affecting his BG? Not too sure how that stuff works just yet.
I hope his eye is healing fast. Poor baby. But you take such good care of them! :bighug::bighug:

Nice work with Smudge, that steady green is impressive.

Curious, what's your feeding schedule like for him? Twice a day or full on grazer? Do you give consistant snacks to flatten curve?

Hi there Jason, thank you! Smudge kinda does what he wants. He was a neighborhood cat that came into my care through a series of events. Because of this, I think he just refuses to eat full meals at PS time. He will have a few bites, play, have a few bites, play, and will usually finish about 3/4 of his AM portion within his first 2-3 hours post-shot. I leave the rest for him to graze on as he chooses. Each test he also gets a fair amount of Purebites (so he will stay still for me, haha), but I really only test in his first 4 hours post shot, as he seems to nadir early compared to most. Every once in a while he will REALLY chow down his PM meal and I will leave out another half can for the overnight, but he typically doesn't finish that before breakfast.

I’m still learning everything, but he sure makes a strong case on why more frequent smaller meals really help the curve. Very interesting, thanks for sharing and keep up the great work!

He is really a wonder to me! I noticed in your welcome thread that members here recommended the microchip feeder to help you leave food out for Kona. I wanted to mention that I use the Sure Petcare microchip feeders for Smudge and my CKD cat Penny, because they absolutely cannot have each other's food. This is a huge help to being able to leave food out if you need to and it also keeps the wet far more fresh for longer (should you get her completely off dry, not sure if you have yet). They are pricey, but I got mine over 5 years ago to use with different cats and they have been worth every penny and are still going strong. I also got some "feet" for them off Etsy, to raise them up to a more comfortable eating height, highly recommended.

Ah yes, Surefeed Microchip Feeders. We have 7 of them. We started with the plastic bowls then moved to ceramic, and now are using stainless steel dishes in the feeders.

Our cats get those feeders SO DIRTY omg. Have to wipe them down constantly. Messy eaters! My wife also bought the WAY overpriced plastic attachment for several of them, that keeps other cats from trying to sneak in from the back of the feeder and steal a bite. They occasionally have a weird issue, and they are only battery-powered which is a little annoying but overall they have been great for us so we can feed the gang and the slow eaters can nibble then come back later and the vacuum-kitties have not eaten it all. And we sometimes feed Hendrick or Roxy different foods (Roxy is borderline CKD)

I feel your cleaning pain!!! Penny absolutely OBLITERATES hers every day. You'd think she was spitting food out all over the place (but she barely has any teeth left, so I cut her some slack), lol. I also use the stainless in hers because she gets acne from plastic, but I bought little ceramic dishes on Amazon that fit in them from before they came out with the stainless, which Smudge uses in his. He is much neater than she.

Of course Smudge is a perfect eater. I kinda think he’s the perfect cat :joyful:
