If you are going to follow Libby and Sandy's suggestion, you'll want to feed Shanga at pre-shot, +3, +6, and +9 -- that's 4 meals evenly spaced throughout the cycle.. You'd want to divide up each cycle's food into equal portions to feed during the day. Are you able to purchase a timed feeder? I don't know if this would be available in Turkey but it would be a way that you wouldn't have to wake up in the middle of the night to feed Shanga.

it might be helpful if you keep track of which foods you're giving before each BG result. For example, that 427 you had - i wonder if it was different food than before the 149. was it the turkey or the salmon varieties?
Several members here have commented that the Fancy Feast Turkey and Giblets has been reformulated and the carb count is higher than it used to be. Fish are usually really low carb, but i've also heard that the FF Savory Salmon is something like 9carbs - making it higher than the others, which are mostly around 2carbs.
for boy cats, it's also recommended to limit the fish because it can cause urinary tract problems. i give punkin fish occasionally on the weekends, but stick to chicken most of the time.
it would be really great if shanga could be controlled by diet, wouldn't it!

I feed shanga 6 times with 2 canned fancy feast. I tried to feed 4 times but then he gets high blood sugar in the morning...

I ordered automatic feeder. I think It will arrive tomorrow
I have been sleepless for 6 months after he has diagnosed with stomatitis and I went even worse after I've learned he has diabetes. I hope things will get better soon... I am just praying him to heal so i can breathe a bit...
i would give years from my life to my cat if i could... He is my everything...

We are hoping that the change in diet and feeding will stabilize his BGs, and perhaps his diabetes can be diet controlled. it appears that the diet changes make a difference for Shanga.

2) Do you work outside the home?
3) In the event Shanga needs to be on insulin, does your schedule allow you to be able to test in between shots?

1- He is 100% indoors... If you ask, he is completely lazy... I am trying to make him run time to time but he gives up in 2 min lol...
2-Yes, I work outside...
3-If Shanga needs insulin I will try to figure it out . I came back home at 09.00 pm 3 days in a week. But if he needs it, I am ready to quit the job.
4-I talked with an another vet today, he is a dental specialist. But he is talking about dental extraction... I told him I wanna try for that after I tried everything...I think i will go to him with Shanga... I am still researching a good dental specialist here. ohmygod_smile
And also I give Shanga Interferon , and It worked very well on Shanga. So Its a big hope for me...
