Hello everyone. Mugsy's head wound is getting better? It hasn't refilled since it drained itself 2 nights ago. Crossing paws. nailbite_smile We got up too late for a test before his am dose (may have to push it to a later time for our sake) but, tried at +1/2 and just couldn't get enough blood so gave up before it was too much like torture. Still giving AB once a day to keep his food down (he dry heaved once this morning) because he still needs it but, can't have his tummy upset all the time. We will try to get one or two successful tests again later. He finished off a can of tuna and a can of turkey FF yesterday and has been working on FF salmon today so, at least he won't starve. I will check for ketones when he co-operates by using his box when I can get at it. He's so-o-o sneaky about it. He seems healthy except for his head so, I'm not worrying about him going HYPO just because the testing is so erratic. Thanks for all the support and suggestions.

Question...does anyone know why I get ERROR when I try to access the photo gallery? :?:

PS: Kimmie and Pimiento need our support - she is overwhelmed too.

Good morning Sally! Sounds like Mugsy head wound is improving - good news! I hope it heals well and quickly. The testing will come- just keep at it. I know everyone keeps saying that it will get easier... it is true. I think it will help lots when his head is healed - it as got to be difficult to deal with both. Good luck!, and hang in there!

Thanks...I'm calming down and thinking now. I do think a change to, maybe, 9 am/9 pm would be a big improvement for us. Mornings are a bit demanding between trying to put the house back in order (husband goes to bed later), take care of Charlie's (husband) needs from medicine and food to getting him dressed and out of trouble, taking care of Mugsy, and finding time for me to get dressed, have food and my medicine...and then there are the morning's chores. Trying to test Mugs before his 8 am shot is a bit rough and it's still dark! My eyes are worse than ever (myopia all my life - now can't see beyond my nose plus mild cataracts) so, later would mean more light, as well. 9 am would still be early enough, I think, as long as it's 12 hours between doses. Otherwise, I'm trying to space things out (AB, shots, testing) and hopefully the wound no longer needs draining - it's helping. I think we're getting the hang of controlling Mugs while we test but, I still need him to bleed enough (when we're testing - not after). We're positive, though! :-D
