I'm in a bit of a state and super-worried about Noogi. Please keep us in your thoughts.
When I got home this afternoon I found him in the bathroom, in obvious pain. He wasn't walking right and one of his back legs was at a funny angle. He had pooped and peed outside the litter tray (very unusual).
Took him to the vet immediately (once again so grateful that I live two blocks away from the practice). Vet not sure if this is a new injury, or a sudden worsening of his arthritis - maybe a nerve is being pinched. He said it was a good thing Noogi was able to stand and carry his weight. He gave him an injection for pain and sent me home with more pain meds for the weekend, which he will have in addition to the anti-inflammatory he is taking already. I will him know later tonight how Noogs is doing and we'll take it from there.
Noogi was showing no signs of pain yesterday and was very playful. So whatever is causing this pain came on suddenly.
When I got home after the vet I saw that Noogi had eaten little during the day. Maybe the pain started much earlier - poor little guy may have been in distress for several hours. I gave him his injection as normal (altho an hour late) and got him to eat some food (not much). He drank well though. He is now very out of it from the painkiller and is in his safe space hidey-hole under my bed. He did just come out and eat a little more, which I am pleased about. He is very wobbly on his feet.
I've cancelled my weekend plans to look after him. Got a very bad feeling that this is the beginning of the end.
