Good morning and Happy Sunday! Things are better today in our house...Mike seems to feel better and my eye is sooooo much better altho upper/lower eyelid very puffy. I really want to visit some condos this morning. Only downside to the morning is I gave a FUR SHOT grr_red grr_red grr_red I made the mistake of stopping Gracie on the way to the LB and she was on a mission. I got the needle in w/out her even reacting and just as I was pushing the plunger, she decided she just HAD to get to the LB. I have no idea if I got any insulin in her...I guess the day will tell.

WCR: 4Ps in place and she has been having a ball this morning. I want to take this opportunity to thank you all...I get weepy thinking about it...but you have given us our baby girl back. I don't know where we are on our journey or where it will take us but I see how my sweet crazy baby has become her self again. Before we started the insulin and even within the first couple of weeks, she was grouchy, lethargic, hissy, and refused to play or interact. It was breaking our hearts. You see, Gracie's motto for life is "EAT, PLAY, LOVE". She has always been the most playful kitten/cat we've had and loves to snuggle with her mamabean. But the FD changed that. Gracie brought so much life into our home with two elderly cats and one that was in perpetual kittenhood even though he was 9 when she came. They became fast friends and she was every bit of the rough-housing wrestler that he was. When he crossed the RB last Feb, we knew that she needed a playmate to grow old with. The other two kitties were older, Gus loves her but cannot play due to arthritis, and Teddi is a royal highness. We did a long search for the perfect kitten who would not be aggressive but would play and we finally found Tobey. At first, she hated him but just as they started to interact, she got her diagnosis and everytime he came near her, she hissed, growled, and swatted. Now....they are best friends...they are always together, they romp, wrestle, play...we've waited so long to see this (Tobey came in July). So THANK YOU...it is because of each of you who visit our condo and give us advice, hold our hands, and are so patient with me. Thank you that we can see the inner light and joy in our baby girl again...she is so happy. Here are two pictures of her with her Maxie (I don't have a pic of her with Tobey like this because they never slow down  )

Re: 10/24 Gracie AMPS 329

What a beautiful post Marjorie. And the pics are just adorable. I'm so glad Gracie is back to her old self, it DOES warm your heart, doesn't it? I remember watching Muffin's activities and antics return, some of which I hadn't noticed she had stopped, until they started again. Now go rest that eye and get off the 'puter!

Re: 10/24 Gracie AMPS 329

Re: 10/24 Gracie AMPS 329 +2 297

Thanks, Celi...I think we cross posted. I have a whole series of those photos with Max and Baby Gracie...in one of them, she is gingerly holding his foot in her mouth...it is absolutely the cutest photo but all you see of him is his foot. He was so great with her.

Great to hear from you this morning, Pat!! Thank you...you are one of the ones who has made a big difference for us. :YMHUG: :YMHUG: back to you!! Glad you liked our photos!!

Re: 10/24 Gracie AMPS 329 +2 297

Thanks, Lisa...yes, I was surprised she dropped any at all...maybe I got a tad bit of insulin in her. Yes..eye better..just have raging headache (not like me). Gotta visit DL this morning!!

Re: 10/24 Gracie AMPS 329 +2 297

Beautiful pics, Marjorie, and a wonderful post today! I'm so sorry Maxi is gone - he looks like such a sweet cat. I'm really glad that Gracie is enjoying Tobey. I hope you are all feeling better soon.

Re: 10/24 Gracie AMPS 329 +2 297

Thank you, Ele. Max was a one-of-a-kind and my soul kitty. We all miss him so much. The animal communicator told me that he wanted to "come back" right away. The weird thing is that Tobey's personality has so many of Maxie's traits and yet, he's his own Tobeyness!! But even funnier is the way Gracie is with him...just like she was with Max. It makes me wonder if there isn't some of Max's spirit in him...but I don't really want to know for sure because I want to appreciate Tobey for himself...he is a delight!

Re: 10/24 Gracie AMPS 329 +2 297

Question: if you give a fur shot, how does it affect the shed and for how long? Does it totally drain the shed in one cycle so we'll have to wait a few cycles
for it to fill or does it just partially drain it so we can expect tonight's shot to refill it and tomorrow to be more normal? Thank you!!!

Re: 10/24 Gracie AMPS 329 +2 297 SHED ??? pls

What a wonderful post Marjorie - I couldn't agree with you more. I thank my lucky stars everyday for this board, and the great people that work so hard to help us all.

Love the photos - cute, adorable, and what good friends.

I answered your food question in my condo, for whenever you have the time.

looks like maybe not a fur shot - she's got a decent drop there at +2 ?? No too sure on the duration period to refill the shed.. ?? With the two times that I am certain of a fur shot, it took a day for Mannie to be abck on track.

have a great day today - hope your eye is better soon. And Gracie! Here's to a good cycle for you!

Hey Gracie - it is boring here. You wanna hang out some? ~~ Mannie

Re: 10/24 Gracie AMPS 329 +2 297 +5 371 SHED ??? pls

Darn...definitely a fur shot this morning as I suspected. Highest number she's had in a long time. ohmygod_smile ohmygod_smile

Any other thoughts on my question (repeated below):

The shed doesn't completely drain. In all likelihood, a fur shot will effect at least one cycle but it's hard to know just how long the effect will be. It's another instance of ECID.

Re: 10/24 Gracie AMPS 329 +2 297 +5 371

I loved reading your post Marjorie those pictures are so precious. I feel the same way about this board and the help we've had. Powder is so much better now. I hope you're resting and that you feel better soon too. We really enjoy having visits from you and Gracie. :YMHUG:

Re: 10/24 Gracie AMPS 329 +2 297 +5 371

Hey Marjorie - love the pics! they're so sweet!

No worries on the fur shot. I know it's frustrating - I did it yesterday morning - but you'll get back on track. Emma's AMPS was pretty normal today, so it didn't take her long to recover at all!

Re: 10/24 Gracie AMPS 329 +2 297 +5 371

Kathy: I've been watching Powder and he does seem to have improved but alot of it is YOU and your diligence!! I'm happy you enjoyed the post/pictures :-D

Kristen: Thank you for checking in on Grace...it means alot to us. Emma is doing so well, too! Thanks for letting me know she got back on track quickly.

Re: 10/24 Gracie PMPS 260

Whew...we were so worried that without any insulin today because of the fur shot, that we'd see a ridiculous number. Thankfully, she is on the yellow floor; I'm assuming she'll have to refill her shed tonight so don't expect great things but if I can keep her no higher than this, I'd be happy tonight. Hope all is well in LL.

Re: 10/24 Gracie PMPS 260 +2 273

Thanks Michelle. She did this last night where she went up at +2 and then dropped 100 at +4. So we'll see what happens considering this morning.

DH on night duty now...I'm off to bed as must go TBP tomorrow. Ni Ni all!! Sleep tight and hug your babies close.
