Should have been 1unit this morning but I did another BCS of 0.75units and fed mc. I think he could go either way today given some blue last night.
(Struggled a bit last night and today to pull a good 0.75unit dose will need to practice….may have been a tiny pinch closer to 1 unit after all)
…..aaaaaaaaaand as I write this a scarf n barf  ….will let him settle for 20 minutes and feed again (so much for grabbing another hour sleep on a Sunday morning:coffee::blackeye:)

Have you tried using calipers? I found they made a big difference with the in between doses and being consistent. I don’t have to think about it anymore the calipers do all the work which helps in the morning when my brain is still foggy :)

Oh wow that’s a very different method than what I use. I’ve been using these instructions

Digital Caliper Set-Up

You’ll need your calipers and a syringe. Turn on your calipers and unlock the wheel so the arms move freely when turning the wheel

*Warning: The numbers used in this guide are examples. DO NOT use these numbers for your dosing.
Push the plunger in, so the syringe is at 0, and use the small arms to measure the opening between the syringe body and plunger head. This is your “0” measurement and should be recorded for future use. I take pictures and save them to my phone for easy access.

Now use the Big Arms to measure 1 unit on your syringe body. Use numbers higher up on body as they are easier to see and more accurate. This is the difficult part as the lines are small. I use my phone’s camera, as a magnifying glass, so I can zoom in close.
• Take your 1u measurement and break it down into partial units (see next page for examples).
• Add that number to your “0” measurement (previous page measurement) and that gives you the number to set your digital calipers to.
• Once set, lock it in place and you now have your calipers set and ready to use!
*Warning: The numbers used in this guide are examples. DO NOT use these numbers for your dosing.

Math Time!
• Here are some examples of how to break down the 1u for different doses.
• You will need your “0” Measurement (our example measurement was 6.50)
and your 1u Measurement (our example measurement was 1.12).
• Helpful Hint: Once I have a dose measurement figured, I take a picture of it and save it to my phone for easy reference in case I have to go back to that dose.
.25U measurement
• 1.12 / 4 = .28
• .28 + 6.50 = 6.78
*Set caliper to 6.78 and lock wheel
.10U measurement
• 1.12 / 10 = .112
• .112 + 6.50 = 6.612
*Calipers only have 2 decimal places so round to 6.61
*Set caliper to 6.61 and lock wheel.
.50U measurement
• 1.12 / 4 = .28 x 2 = .56 • .56 + 6.50 = 7.06
*Set caliper to 7.06 and lock wheel
.15U measurement
• 1.12 / 10 = .112 x 1.5 = .168 • .168 + 6.50 = 6.668
*Calipers only have 2 decimal places so round to 6.67
*Set caliper to 6.67 and lock wheel.
.75U measurement
• 1.12 / 4 = .28 x 3 = .84 • .84 + 6.50 = 7.34
*Set caliper to 7.34 and lock wheel
.20U measurement
• 1.12 / 10 = .112 x 2 = .224 • .224 + 6.50 = 6.724
*Calipers only have 2 decimal places so round to 6.72.
*Set caliper to 6.72 and lock wheel.
*Warning: The numbers used in this guide are examples. DO NOT use these numbers for your dosing.

There are instructions with pictures but I can’t figure out how to post :banghead:

Once the calipers are set and locked I just draw up insulin and place the small arms in the space between the plunger base of the needle and push till it’s snug and done
