I knooow! I’m so happy that blue is becoming her new colorIt's amazing how she has flattened out into blues and greens!![]()
Hmmm super interesting about the food carb level change…wonder if it’s a factor or pure coincidence…Could switching from a 8% food to a 4% food have had any role to play in this change? Back in Portland she ate half raw (very low carb, either turkey or rabbit, no veggies or grains added), half Koha turkey (which is listed as 8% carbs in the food chart).
Then since we arrived in Virginia she has been more picky and I have switched to Wellness Complete Health - both the flavors she eats are 4%.
@JL and Chip - I just ordered control solution for my meter, is it reliable or is cat’s blood different enough for the control solution to not be a solid indicator of accuracy? If you want reassurance about the lower numbers and lethargy, you can always test your non-diabetics to get a feel for what’s “normal” on your particular meter. I’ve had some meters that ran higher or lower than others and found it a good reality check (and reassuring especially when shooting lower numbers) to get the additional data. I even tested twice when opening a new vial of test strips — one with the last strip from the old vial and again with the first strip of the new vial (usually same drop of blood). It’s probably unnecessary but I did sometimes find variation on the readings from various batches of strips and, being a bit of data junkie, I just had to know, lol.
Impossible to say, right? Especially with so many variables at play on same time period… still, I think I will stick to the new food just out of caution!Hmmm super interesting about the food carb level change…wonder if it’s a factor or pure coincidence…
