Good Morning LL ~O) ~O)

Leo and i had a good weekend, we chillaxed, watched movies and i read a book. I had a girls night out on Saturday so Leo was home alone for the evening, i got back and sleepy head hadn't eaten at all and probably didn't move a muscle. :-D

We had a good test, shoot and feed this morning and the new FF fuds are still a hit. I had to fatten his dose, because he somehow thought he was performing in the Blue Mannie Group   and we saw a bit of green last night! He is currently rolling around with his nanners on the floor beside me purring up a storm.

I'm off soon to take my vehicle in to get the windshield replaced, so Leo and i will be without wheels for the day, i'm sure he won't mind. We should get the results back from his blood work today as well. Fingers, toes and paws crossed that everything comes back normal.

Have a great day all. :-D

Re: 10/22 Leo AMPS 140

It sounds like Leo is emulating Mannie and the nanners! I suspect that Leo figures it's only fair that if you went out the other evening, you should spend today with him.

Hi Tracy, enjoy your down time with Leo today. Did I miss something with the windshield; I hope no accident. Sending good vines for the b/w results today. I'll check back later. Mags survived her Vetty visit. :-D

Our vetty just called, Leo's liver enzymes have shown a big increase (her words), they were on their way up for his last bloodwork we had done in late June/early July. She doesn't know what this means, she isn't sure but said it may have something to do with the SRT, but we both weren't sure. She said if he was suffering from an acute episode of pancreatitis then it can be attributed to that but he seemed fine at the time. She said we can leave it and recheck in a month or we can go for an ultrasound of his liver to see what's going on. I went for the ultrasound route, so she has to send off a referral to the veterinary college then we have to see an internal medicine specialist who then has to refer us to a radiologist. So it sounds like its going to take some time before i can find out what's going on in my Leo's body.

I've asked her to email me a copy of his bloodwork, so she's going to get that to me within the next few days.

I don't know what to think right now.......

Tracy, I have no comment. Just sending a hug, 'cause you have to wait so long to get Leo tested and results in. :YMHUG:
Scritches for Leo.

That sure sounds like a lot of hoops to jump thru just for an ultrasound. I hope it all happens quickly, and hopefully the u/s will bring peace of mind.

(((Tracy and Leo)))
Sorry to hear about the liver enzymes. I guess you haven't been able to get in touch with Dr. Timian? I was looking through my notes (sorry, they are still a mess so haven't sent them to you yet), and specifically what the longer term effects would be. At this point, my notes say that what you would see from SRT are any issues to do with the tumour tissues breaking down or anything to do with loss of pituitary function (hormone/thyroid issues, hence the T4 tests). The thyroid issue is the only common longer term issue they've seen.

Paws crossed for a quick U/S referral.

Re: 10/22 Leo AMPS 140, +6 130, +9 194 & BW results in

Andrea said Leo's elevated liver enzymes could be related to any number of things, diabetes, fatty liver disease and some sort of bile problem are the 3 she named. I'm going to hope and keep my fingers crossed its diabetes related and there is some med that can help him. He is not bothered by the news at all, he's fast asleep in my bed after having a snack.

My windshield was cracked when we drove down to Colorado for SRT, it was super hot in Montana and i got a rock chip, it almost instantly cracked in 3 different directions, i figured i'd get it replaced before it gets really cold here and it spreads even more. While my vehicle was in i got an oil change and of course they found a million things wrong with my vehicle, which is surprising because its only got 45,000 kms on it!!! I need new tires, there is something wrong with my transmission, it needed a fuel injector flush, all in all it was all going to come up to a few thousand dollars    Seriously?!?!

Tracy --

When you have a chance, can you get a copy of Leo's labs and post the results?

Ugh! on the car repairs.

Hi Tracy & Leo,

I sure hope that the various tests will pin down why Leo's liver values are high. In any event, it is good that he is acting totally normally and nothing seems to be bothering him. Is there a chance that there could have been a false reading? You might send a PM to Karrie and Maverick. Karrie knows a great deal about fatty liver disease and might be able to set your mind at ease on that topic.

Bummer on your car. I had a cracked windshield for years on my old VW Bug. It wouldn't have passed the state inspection at a normal inspection station, but I took it to a garage in the "grey zone" and they took the money, slapped a sticker on it, and all was well for another year! Winter in your area (and ours) is tough on cars. I just traded mine in (at 49,000 miles) because of brake/rotor/bearing issues last winter and because the a/c needed a new compressor. I foresaw more "stuff" happening as winter approaches.

Sending you lots of hugs,

Ella & Rusty

I don't know if you are aware but Gracie's liver enzymes went up. She was totally asymptomatic. Her spec fPL came back that she had pancreatitis but our vet did not buy it. I took her over for an U/S and they found an infected bile duct. Her pancreas, liver, gb, everything looked super but her bile duct was dilated due to infection. So I'm really glad I had the U/S done. The A/Bs have helped with her liver enzymes...all but one is in normal range. They also put her on ursodiol and denamarin.

Good luck and please keep us posted. Oh...btw, specialist said her spec fPL was probably elevated due to the other issue.
