She only hit blue once in 3 days. Something seems to be very wrong and I don't know how to proceed. I don't feel like we are helping her get better. Does anyone know of a vet specializing in diabetic cats that may do a consult over the phone? I am just at a loss these days. In high numbers she eats etc. but still feel we have a problem. Being patient for 4 months doesn't seem to be the case. Any advice/suggestions appreciated. Thanks.

I think most vet's would want to see a cat to diagnose an issue. Many things can make a cat difficult to regulate, from bad teeth, infections, to secondary conditions like hyperthyroidism, heart issues, kidney disease, high dose conditions, to name a few. Start with getting bloodwork and urinalysis and a physical exam. Until then you have to keep doing what you are doing and increasing the dose until you get to better numbers. Each cat is different, but there is a dose out there for every cat.

As far as I can see, Julie, you are doing everything right. You're getting an amazing amount of testing done, considering the situation. I just think you haven't gotten to the purrfect dose yet. This is not an easy dance, and it doesn't happen quickly in many cats. Hang in there!
