Is it official today? Tomorrow? I'm ready to Partaaaay! and sleep lol

Oh and can anyone recommend a microchip feeder? My girl isn't chipped but she can wear the RDIF Collar Tag that comes with them. I need one for wet food. The only 2 I can find are the

SureFeed Microchip Pet Feeder (model # iMPFWT)
here's the link https://www.amazon.com/Sure-Petcare...nect/dp/B07RHZHHGN/?tag=felinediabetesfdmb-20

and the

Sure Petcare SureFlap SureFeed (Model # MPF001)
here's the link https://www.amazon.com/SureFlap-MPF...eder/dp/B00O0UIPTY/?tag=felinediabetesfdmb-20

I don't see any others but If you know of any please let me know. The reviews often say that they stop working within weeks to months of purchase or the let any cat through.

My Goals: To free feed Henri without the other cats being able to get access to her food. The will be fed separately and at designated times. Henri will be fed breakfast and dinner when they are but I want her to have access to food during the day and late at night if she needs or wants.
The other thing to consider is that she is a fairly big cat. The opening of the feeder needs to be high enough for her to be able to stick her head through comfortably.

Thoughts?

I bought two microchip Sure Feeds about a month ago for my cats to separate Ruby's wet food from her sister's combo wet/dry. It's one of the best investments I've ever made. I was faced with the choice of having to feed them both the same food and it's so much better now that Olive can still have some kibble and Ruby can't steal her sister's food. Ruby's a big boned girl too and she has to really get her shoulders underneath the archway for the sensor to detect her but it only took her a day or two to figure it out. Olive is a bit more skittish so it took her about a week because the sound of the door opening and closing scared her. The only thing I regret about this system is that I can't time it to open at specific times, but otherwise I love it so far.

Common Ruby! You got this!
Nice! Can I ask which of the 2 models you got?

I got the less expensive one without the scale. When I bought them I didn't think I needed it, but in hindsight I could have paid the extra $30 to know exactly how much Ruby was eating each day by weight, but I can guesstimate that based on how much I put into the bowl from the cans.

Oh and buy them from the manufacturer because you can sign up to be on the mailing list and get 10% off. Also, buy the batteries they sell. You will want to open it up and set it up without having to run out for the gigantic C batteries they take. The shipping is not as quick as Amazon but it's free and fast enough.

Congratulations :otj:!!!

I have the SureFeed Connect feeders and would not be able to live without them in my multi cat household with various dietary needs .

I also discovered that there are special “modes” that the company is able to add if you have any issue such as a cat who manages to stick their big head in another cats feeder :woot:——INTRUDER MODE..LOL. The feeder will read the intruding cats microchip and knows to shut the lid fast and hard. This teaches the intruder cat—they realize there is no access and stop. They have really thought of everything—except I have asked for a multi feeder refrigerated microchip connect :). They said they have projects in the pipeline but cannot tell me what they are....I hope it’s a multi feeder :bighug:

It’s the SureFeed Connect :

https://www.surepetcare.com/en-us/pet-feeder/microchip-pet-feeder-connect

I highly recommend buying it from the company vs Amazon. I spoke with a manager in the UK who literally ended up sending me one from the UK to make sure it was brand new. Apparently Amazon is putting them on the shelves if they are returned and there can be issues ranging from the software being old or pets from whoever purchased it last still being on there :(. So be safe and just order direct from the company site.

I have the second one. I purchased the stainless bowl for it (I don't use plastic). Ollie figured it out right away. I put her dried raw in it and she went right in. The only thing I don't like is you can't raise it up. The cat has to be able to walk under the top arm. It is a life saver. Ollie didn't have chip so used the tag, cat always had to have collar on to access it.

Interesting...I was thinking if I put it on the fireplace hearth...it would raise it up to make it easier. That wouldn't be an option with this?

I tried it on a book and it wouldn't work. Cat has to walk right up to edge of the bowl itself, not the tray that sticks out. Neck with collar has to go through the arm.

Aahh, congratulations!!!!! :cat::cat::cat:

Sure Petcare SureFlap SureFeed (Model # MPF001)
^^I have this one. Well, actually, I have 3 of these  one for each of my bebbies LOL

I was really hesitant to spend that much money, let alone three times over, but they are worth *every* *penny*. I’ve had them for 3 years now, and each one of them works as well as the day I got them :):)
