So we had a snafu tonight.

I thought my mom had taken DoDo's PMPS-- she thought I had. So the last I had was about 2 hours prior to shot-- it was 314. +2 after his 3.0u of insulin he was at 533-- the highest I have recorded this week. Although-- it could be I do not usually do +2.


I was able to get a pee ketone this evening by placing a plastic serving spoon underneath him-- somehow I cant quite find his stream when he pees for me.

No ketones tonight. :)

Although!!! DoDo pulled out the remaining stitches in his feeding tube. It had slid just a little so I slid it carefully back into where the marker was on the tube. We see the vet in the morning so I think that she can put in another stitch.

Other than that my mom says when I leave the room after giving out supper he acts depressed and stops eating. When I come back in the room he finishes up with gusto and then does some head butting.

Maybe DoDo enjoys all of this attention at all hours of the day and night.

Or maybe he just missed me since I had to go into the office today.

Who knows!
 
so he went from 126 to 300 something in an hour or 2 than 2 hours later post shot and dinner (he ate right?) he's 533?
looks like a couple of days of late nadir.
 
in our experience with prozinc:

the onset occurs about/after +2.
If you feed at shot time, (recommended) you have a food bump still present,
the previous dose has worn off,
and the new dose hasn't started,

+2 is likely to be the highest reading of the day.

So previous to the DKA episode, DoDo used to have late nadirs.. now it seems like he nadirs around the 7 hour mark or so.
