We are late again getting up a condo for the mighty Z. Both beans were crazy busy this morning and in and out, so no time. It didn't look like it would be a good cycle with the stinky pinky start, but the mighty Z has managed to come down to a nice low blue. :shock: Poo patrol had a yin/yang day, hard poo for Tillie Tooter, still dealing with back/hip pain and constipation, and a pudding poo from the mighty Z, it's always something. :YMSIGH:

I will be leaving for the Netherlands for the month of November on 31 Oct for the last trip of my sabbatical. Poor Liz will once again be the single BIC (bean-in-charge) and this time we are having appy issues with both kitties, and dealing with Tillie's arthritis as well as Zener's FD. It will be a tough four weeks for her as it is near the end of the semester. Fortunately there are two long weekends in the month, so a little break. I am ordering everything, meds, food, lancets, syringes, spare insulin, etc, possible and cutting up pills, so there will be less to do while I am gone. We will have to take a look at Zener's cycles over the next two weeks and make a dosing plan, so that Liz will be able to sleep at night and not do PJ parties. When I've been gone before, we've shaved his dose. So we'll have to see how things are going with the current dose in the next week or so.

Hi Anne and Liz, nice slide for Zener today. Oh so sorry about little Tillie and the poo issues and also Zener with liquipoo. Sending vines for Tillie 's poo and her arthritis and Zener's tummy/poo isssues. It's hard to see both of them in distress. Is the Miralax helping Tillie? Have you tried giving it to her in the syringe mixed with water. On the food works, too. We will miss you for the month, Anne, and it sounds like you're getting things organized to help Liz. Enjoy the rest of the weekend. We finally got some cooler weather and rain expected tomorrow.

Hi guys,

Sounds like some very busy times are approaching for both of you. I'm sure that Liz will keep her head above water and that Anne will have a productive month in the Netherlands (a good time to be there: lots of hearty soups to eat!).

Z., you will have to do your part, and it would be good to start practicing now. You can have nice, easy cycles so that Liz can be BIC in charge and at the same time advise students and prepare classes,etc etc.

Nice slidage there Zener!! Sorry about Tillie & poo issues too--Listen we will be here to help, that's what we do here in LL Right?? Do what you feel safe with, what you think will work with kitties & Liz--You know me I am for safety first...
Miralax is a wonderful thing, now that Moonie is eating out of 2 plates out of the 4 I put around for her , I have had to relocate the miralax & methyl B12 & camoflague n the new chunky FF-
She's older, needs an explosion to wake her up from a deep sleep, not sure how great her eyesight still is, plus her sense of smell at 16~~~~ But Dam* this cat can sense any medication, sniff it out, or find where it's hidden like Sherlock Holmes :roll: :o :roll: :o ohmygod_smile :lol: :lol: :lol:

So I am sneaking the Miralax into her food I hand feed her at mealtime..the rest is up to her=

Ah, it's a good evening! A blue PMPS, kitties are eating, doing yard patrol and otherwise being cute as can be. Tillie, our civvie, wants to know if she can come along with Zener to the Fur Ball OTJ party?

@Ann & Maggie - thanks for the vines! Appy better with both kitties tonight. The Miralax has helped both kitties, not sure our increase to twice a day has made much difference. We have not tried the Miralax syringed with water, great idea. She usually eats the Miralax on her food without too much problem, but she will not eat the Cosequin in her food, though she will eat it most of the time mixed in plain yogurt. I should have good email access while I am in the Netherlands and will be able to keep up some with LL! Hooray for cool weather and rain! :-D

@Ella - thank you for giving Zener his instructions for while I am away! ;-) The weather in the Netherlands has been unseasonably warm and dry, still I am looking forward to some Dutch culture and cuisine! The last few days before I come home, I will be at a meeting in Bonn, Germany and we will be able to visit the Weinachtsmarkt, or the Christmas Market, with many special foods and beverages! I would love the mighty Z to forgo a PJ party for Fur Ball's OTJ party, but knowing our crazy cat, he may decide to throw an after party PJ party. :shock:

@ Roni - your post on our condo made Liz laugh out loud! :lol: We are so grateful for you all here in LL, we would never be able to do this without all your advice and support!

I'm glad Zener and Tillie's appys are better this evening. Hopefully Zener won't give you that PJ party tonight. It sounds like you are on the ball with getting everything prepared for your trip. Good luck deciding what dose to give Zener while you are gone.

Zener - Shasta wanted me to tell you that she likes your numbers today (well, except your AMPS...we can ignore that number!) Keep up the pretty blues and hope you find some pretty greens tonight! Hope you guys have an excellent Caturday evening partying away at Fur Ball's OTJ party!!! Shasta and I are about to turn in for the evening. Wish we could stay up and party!!

btw, Anne you're great for getting everything ready for Liz! I tried to get Shasta to do that for me, but she's a cat. :lol:

Oh my, big backyard excitement! Zener wanted outside for a little picnic at +3, so I bang on our backdoor as a "get outta here" signal to any critters in the yard. Zener does his "let me out dance" and when I get the door open, goes right to his picnic table, takes a bite, then puffs up and dashes (as only he can dash) toward the back corner of the yard. I run after him clapping my hands and saying "get outta here" and hear something go up and over our fence. Zener stops at the corner of the fence and is puffed up great big, then I pick him up and bring him in, Liz and I praising him on how brave he is defending his backyard. Never got a look at what it was, so not sure if it was another cat or the raccoon, definitely not the skunk though.

@Deborah - Zener is very pleased Shasta likes his blue numbers, he is very handsome in blue! And we won't mention that stinky number at AMPS ;-) Pretty greens don't look likely tonight, but then we never really know. Sweet dreams to you and Shasta. I-)

oh that's too funny with the vicious attack cat....
good thing it wasn't a skunk.... that's so hard to get rid of....

Hi Anne,

Sorry Zener and Tillie are having tummy issues. I hope they stay gone after the miralax.

A trip to the Netherlands sounds wonderful. I hope you have a great time! I'm sure Liz will handle everything just fine.
