DOSE INCREASE to 2.25 u Lantus.
Ketones tested: negative.
No blue bg yesterday :(
Hoping this increase helps bring down the bg.

Feeling defeated that the lower carb diet change didn’t bring down her bg.
Also, when first diagnosed a diet change alone to this exact diet didn’t do anything either, so they put her on Lantus.

Have a good day everyone, safe surfing, kitties :cat:

Good morning Staci!
I feel your pain.
FD is the hardest thing I have ever dealt with, not just because of logistics but because no matter how hard I try, I don't get the results!
But hang in there. Their little pancreases need time to readjust and reregulate.
Good luck with the increase. @Diane Tyler's Mom told me once, there is a magic dose that will change things around.
I sounds a bit like we are waiting for a prince on a white horse, but our price will come! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Thank you for that show of support, Kit. I really appreciate your words. We just want to help them feel better and it’s so hard when you feel you’re going backwards instead of forward. I know you understand.
Have a nice Friday! Safe surfing to Mikan, big hugs :bighug::bighug:

I totally understand your frustration! This is probably one of the most frustrating diseases to treat, at least that I've ever dealt with. We're all here for you! Ivy will get to her perfect dose soon. :)

I know you understand, Gabrielle! I feel the same as you. We both need to keep on doing that daily stuff, working hard toward the best dose for our fur babies :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Just a heads up that you might want to adjust your +8 in the thread title - I saw it and freaked out a bit for you. Then I looked at your SS and was less freaked out, but just in case for others. :joyful:

Staci, I feel you. It can be really disheartening to try everything you can and not see the result you need. I'm sending you a big hug. Hang in there you're doing such an amazing job with Ivy you will surely see a change.
I'm not sure but I think it takes about three months for a diet change to fully kick in. You might want to give it a little more time.
I'm happy there are no ketones! my gosh ketones are my nightmare. I'm happy these little monsters are not around!
Keep it going, Ivy. Your mum is looking out for you it's safe to get some blues :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Thanks, Shelly. I know you understand.
I only actually lowered her carb recipe (same ingredients going into the recipe) just less carbs so you would think it wouldn’t be such a big deal.
This was actually the original content recipe she was on until late June when I tried increasing her carbs to see if we got a better or different result.

I’m always so nervous about the ketones. So I am always testing her pee.

Every day, keep trying, keep hoping. Thanks for your encouragement. I hope you all have a nice Saturday! :bighug::bighug:
