Yesterday Neko did a matching set of cycles, the first was blue to pink, the second was pink slide down to almost blue. I do so love those PM permission slips to go to bed earlier!

10/1 Recap:
AMPS 176 +4 266 +8 122 +9 116
PMPS 395 +3 325

Another gray start, but the clouds may clear out a little later. This was the first morning for the furnace and I've got to tweak the autosetting because as soon as the furnace starts Neko thinks it's time to get up and feed her. I had to get up a little early anyway to put the garbage and recycling out and Neko joined me for an early morning jaunt. But as soon as I was back inside she was mewing to get back in - she didn't want to miss her date with breakfast! She's had a second quick trip outside and is now camped in front of the autofeeder where she will be until I pick it up after the +2 snack.

What I do today will depend a bit on Neko. We are now down to rowing just twice a week so I feel the need to get some other form of exercise. I'm feeling inspired by Michelle's condo and may look at doing a hike or walk somewhere around here. I have two trail heads about 5 minutes walk away, so no excuses!

Hi Wendy, is it starting to get cold there as you mentioned the furnace? I know what you mean about the permission slips to sleep. I love those, too! I hope Neko gives a nice surf and some nice ones when you take one of your hikes.

Hi Wendy, Hope you were able to do something fun today. Glad Neko let you get some sleep, I will mention that concept to Jasper, he likes attention in the wee hours testing or not. :-D . Wish we had some kind of sleep cells to store sleep like we can store fat  . Have a great day!

I just turned on the heat for the first time last week, and have been alternating between heat and AC since then ... crazy times! I hope you got out to take a walk on the trails and that Neko does some nice blue surfs.

Re: 10/2 Neko AMPS 202 +3 323

Nice that you were able to get some extra sleep. Hope Neko lets you do so again tonight.

Slowly sliding down to the PM. That +6 gave me a chance to get out on a short hike. I climbed Quarry Rock which is a lookout onto Deep Cove (where I row) from the Baden Powell Trail. It's just a 10 minute drive from home, a serious workout climb of almost an hour, gorgeous view on top, and allowed me to stop for cat fuds and Starbucks on the way back. :-D I'll try to post some pictures tomorrow. I stayed up on the lookout for quite a while, even managed to get some pics of the high school kids out rowing. I just got back in time for the kits +9.5 snack. Neko was quite annoyed with me and let me know in no uncertain terms by doing some shredding of the carpet on the top of the stairs. Sigh!

@Ann - it's getting a little chilly at night now. We are planning to get our windows replaced soon (old single pane glass) and that will keep the heat in a little longer. It was a great day for a hike. It turned sunny in the afternoon and Neko wasn't going down anywhere fast.

@Leslie - It did get out for a hike so that was great. Neko usually lets us sleep through the night as once she's asleep for the night, she usually doesn't move around much. Civie Theo on the other hand......

@Lisa - No blue yet, maybe tonight. We don't have AC, I can't imagine the temperature varying that much you'd need it and AC in the same day! Hiking was good. It's mostly a forested hike but the view up top is worth it.

@Carla - I never know with Neko until +3 whether I'll be getting extra sleep. The numbers don't look promising so far, she seems to be getting over her bounce.

Come on down Neko! So glad you got a hike in. Sounds beautiful. Have a great night!

Looks like Neko is on her way back down! I'm glad she gave you permission to go on what sounds like a gorgeous hike! I'll be looking for pictures so that I can live vicariously through your adventures Wendy!

Sounds wonderful - do post some pictures tomorrow! Getting out there in nature is so relaxing - I like it too.

New Jersey can get very muggy. Some nights are wonderful cooler sleeping weather and we'll put the heat on a little but leave a window open. But the days get hotter and the A/C is good to take some of the humidity out of the air, so it's not just all a temperature swing, its a humidity thing too.

I replied to you over in my condo, if you get a chance to wander back over...

Re: 10/2 Neko PMPS 348

Okay Neko!
pink again? really?
Are you just a frilly girl at heart? We can find you some pretty blue lace. :-D

Sounds like a nice change up to go hiking.
I try to last as long as we can without turning on the heat. Usually happens by november but cold weather can change our minds.

Re: 10/2 Neko PMPS 348

WOO HOO! Neko made blue, and you made a hike. Way cool! it sounds like a good one. Amazing isn't it what we can find so close to home.   on Neko's reaction to your being gone - omg... it is what I get from Mannie. That "were have you been?" love it. It was enjoyable to read too on the Starbucks stop on the way home - I do that too, if time permits. and usually it does. :-D :-D I so look forward to pics tomorrow. WOO HOO!

Keep those blues coming Neko!

PMPS 348
When I did the test, I asked her, could we at least do no higher than mid pinks? She obliged, but just. Neko had a good wander outside after I got back. When I went out to get her, the young black neighbour cat was following her everywhere. She was not amused.

@Melissa - there are a lot of short hikes around here and with the weather still nice, I should take advantage of them when I can.

@Tamara - and back up again we go. Still working through the bounce I suspect. The bonus of living on the foothills of a mountain is that there are lots of hiking trails nearby. Most are woodsy hikes so I wanted to do one with a view this time.

@Lisa - that's one thing I don't miss, humidity. We so seldom have it here and I'm happy about that. I love that I can go about 5 minutes on the trail, then all sounds of civilization disappears. Lots of woodpeckers and sapsuckers today, much more relaxing sounds and a great way to get ones mind off the mysteries of FD.

@Rhiannon - yup, pink again. That's 4 pink PMPS in a row! At least it's not red (antijinx). We usually have the heat on a little earlier but it's warmer and drier than usual this year, the complete opposite of our spring.

@Michelle - I heard the Starbucks I stopped at described as being the one with the best view. It looks out on the inlet so quite pretty and literally right beside the cat fuds store. Neko has taken to showing her disapproval of whatever I do wrong by heading to the stair carpet for some shredding action. :YMSIGH:
