I'm really getting frustrated with these PS numbers. They are just getting worse. I seem to have misplaced my patience pants this morning, so I have a call in to the vet to double check whether it's really necessary to wait until Monday to rerun the specfPL. I feel like I'm just sitting here letting Muffin be sick, and I don't like it at all. :? So I have 2 questions this morning, one is from yesterday.

1. Dose - Part of me wants to raise her back to the .1u, but this dose IS getting her into good numbers. It just seems she pops right back up again. I realize she's exhibiting a typical lantus curve, but it's not normal for her. I want my flat green girl back! :lol: Probably just a need for patience pants for me, right? I'll try to get some tests in today in the later part of the cycle, it's been difficult as I've had the DGD's every afternoon and she doesn't want to come out from under the bed.

2. Fasting for specfPL - I asked about this yesterday, but would like more opinions. Muffin is usually done eating by 10 or 11am (+2-3). I could take her in at, say 5pm, and she would have a six hour fast, during a time when she doesn't eat anyway. Or I could make a 9am appt (+1). She is normally done eating by midnight, but then I'd have to skip her breffis and she would have a 9-10 hr fast. Which do you think would be better?

ETA: Never mind on the fasting question - We're going to rerun the BW tomorrow and vet wants an 8-10 hr fast, so we'll do it first thing in the morning!

I'm sorry Anne. I have no advice at all. I know how frustrating it is, to be back here, with these issues, after being in remission. Checkers was off insulin for almost 4 months last summer, but then got infection in teeth, and back on juice.
I haven't been able to get him off again.
You and Muffin are so close. Oh, how I hope you get her problem cleared up soon, and she is back to beautiful flat greens.

Thanks so much Barb, and I'm sorry Checks hasn't been able to get back off the juice yet. Really is hard when something throws a wrench in our OTJ plans.

Hi Anne, glad to hear you got Muffin in tomorrow for a rerun of the b/w and hope it helps with some answers. Hope you get some dose help. I'm baffled at times also with Maggie. For a while there Mags was on two drops and almost seemed headed towards a 2nd trial, bit then the Megacolon issues sent her unpacking and up we went on the dose. How's your weather there today.

Holy cow! What is this all about? Certain it was NOT a fur shot this am. I felt the needle come out of her skin. My regular vet will not be there in the morning, someone is filling in for him, so I'm going to call him now and see if, in light of today's numbers, he wants to check for anything else.

+6 372 Gave Denamarin with a couple bites turkey lunch meat. Vet said he'd run a urinalysis tomorrow, too. Won't retest until +9, and maybe try to get her to eat a snack then. Hoping that will help pmps. At this rate, I dread seeing what pmps is going to be.

Ann - Thanks for stopping by - I'm glad she's going in tomorrow as well, especially after what's happened today. Weather here is more of the same - hot! How bout for you?

Hi Ann!

Everyone seems to be high today for some reason. It's not the weather because we all have different weather. I'll take some of your sunshine in a flash. We have gray rain all day both yesterday and today. Nights are cold already and the trees are starting to change color.

Does Muffin have an upset tummy? I hope she feels better quickly and the test comes back negative.

I can well understand your frustration but am glad you & Muffin are going for tests tomorrow..Yet her numbers were lovely yesterday, despite the PS..It is hard to wear the patience pants, after what you have gone through with her--But you two are so loving & devoted to each other--FD is Never a straight line, there's always many forks in the road..You have done great things here..I just know it will get better for you--

Hi Anne - sorry to see those rotten preshot numbers. I hope you get some answers at the vet and that this is a short course of crappy numbers because a cat is just being a cat.

Hi Anne......I don't know what brands of lunch meat you have, but Checkers is crazy about turkey, and ham lunch meats, and they both spiked his numbers.
Puzzled, I went to deli counter and asked, and found out they're both injected with sweeteners of some sort.....sucrose, corn syrup, and I don't remember what else.
The deli roasted chicken that he adores, also has sweet additives.
It broke my heart to not be able to give him these things......oh yeah....and cantalope :lol:
Do you think the turkey could have driven up this afternoon's numbers?

Anne, obviously you don't want Muffin to have a uti, but if she does, it would be an answer, and with AB's get it cured, and back to her beautiful numbers.

Well, we're back to yellow! I've rarely been excited about yellow, but ....I fed her a snack at +7 and apparently between that and the bupe she's coming down. Put out another snack for her now, but she didn't eat much of it. I gave her another few bites of turkey also. I've not been feeling good today, either, I think I'm coming down with something. :sad:

Barb - The turkey I give her IS honey cured - it's her favorite. I've been giving it to her for years now, tho, and never noticed it causing a problem. It's one of the reasons I believe that she's not very carb sensitive. She had some at +6 and is down now, but I gave her more, so we'll see what pmps is. I've never directly "tested" it's effect on her BG either, tho, but she does get it fairly often.
 
Loving this pmps! She's asking for food, but won't eat her dinner. Having a great time playing with my water bottle tho. I'm taking some medicine and going to bed, but I'll check her at least once before I let myself pass out. :lol:
