Dont know why after several days of good numbers in the greens and blues why Doogle had a yellow and pink night. I suspect the DH didnt get it all in (not a fur shot just not subq). He fights with me about how to tent, where to shoot on the body, how to let go of the tent after shooting insulin. I just feel like all that great progress is now wasted. It takes two of us these days to give a shot because Doogle gets so anxious to go an eat. If he eats right before his shot, his belly gets to tight (according to the DH) to pull up skin. I wish there was a way that I can keep Doogle calmed down while he gets his shot so I can do it myself. grr_red

Re: 10/2 Doogle AMPS 314

Have you tried giving him the shot while he's eating something?

We give Crushy a treat after his meal and shoot while he is distracted eating it. Of course Crushy loooooves his treats and he'll put up with a lot to get them. I guess that might not work with every cat.

good luck!
hope his numbers come down soon

Yeah we have tried it, he loved to turn around and try and grab the syringe. Some days he is great but others, its like pulling teeth from an alligator...lol. The DH used to work with out vet in the 90s and he thinks he knows how to do it all. What worked back in the day doesnt necessarily work now. Sorry about the rant in my post earlier....I just needed to vent.

no worries
I could probably go on a similar rant about my DH. Its hard when you both care a lot and you both think you know the "right" way to do things.

Doogle sounds adorable btw. Uncooperatively adorable, but still adorable
