10/19 BamBam PMBG 88

Congrats on BamBam going OTJ!!! :woot::woot::woot:

You can continue to post here, no worries! :-)

Weruva provides detailed nutritional analysis of all their foods on their website. The Pho range of foods do seem to be low carb (although I wonder how they're getting negative carb %ges in some og the foods!).

I'm not sure they are a complete food though. I think you can supplement another low carb low phos food with the Pho food.

I think Werua will clarify if you will email them and ask about it being only a supplementary food.

I saw their nutritional info with negative carbs too. That's why I asked. Can they make human negative carb food please.

Just wondering, what do you mean not complete food? I will email and see what they say. I am trying to find low Pho food for my boy and am very interested in getting him and his sister on good food, low carb and low Pho.

Just wondering, what do you mean not complete food?
Meaning it is not nutritionally complete in terms of minerals, vitamins etc

I am trying to find low Pho food for my boy and am very interested in getting him and his sister on good food, low carb and low Pho.
Weruva also has other low carb low phos food besides the ones in their Pho range. Wendy had linked the list in your previous condo:

Yes I reviewed that whole site. There is an area with information about low carbs and low pho. I tried to rationalize it to the diabetes food listing. The nutritional data is calculated differently, so numbers don't align. Many foods are not available in my area. I whittled it down to a small list but the pho is mostly in the high 200 range. Just looking for lower alternatives.

Congrats on :otj:!
Weruva's Pho food is nutritionally balanced BUT FOR the level of phosphorus in the food. It is below the recommended amount.
It should not be fed to kittens or pregnant/lactating cats.
I rotate the WX foods with my Cleo. She doesn't have CKD but for awhile was trending towards it. I started feeding lower phosphorus foods (about 200mg/kcal).

She is very regal.
Ahhh YES she is and demands we treat her highness as such is her stature.

When her blood work showed signs that CKD is imminent (high phosp, high bun, high creat, protein in urine but borderline SDMA of 14), my Vet told me to try lower phos food BUT NOT restrict protein yet.
For the lower phos/lower carb selections, I started my search HERE. The information is updated quite often.

Cleo is OBSESSED with food then gets BORED and turns up her nose like I've committed the greatest insult to feline kind .
I typically offer her Weruva - Weruva Truluxe flavors, WX, cats in the kitchen with lower phosphorus and try to stick with one or two proteins in the food. A lot of Weruva is mixed with fish so there's that to try to avoid  because it doesn't help her pickiness.

Occasionally, once a week, I'll give her Ziwi Peak pate (venison or rabbit & lamb) or Instinct Rabbit. The Ziwi and Instinct are much higher in phosphorus, but I give it only once a week especially on her most picky days. She also demands pates some days and shreds later that same day. Its fun trying to feed a regal kitty:cat:
