yesterday's condo

His numbers are back down today, so I'm assuming (as Bhooma suggested) that yesterday was a bounce after three low nights.

I'm having problems getting Jude to eat his regular LC food at shot time. And I had been giving him a Churu with his supplements mixed into that just before feeding him, but now he won't eat that either. I can probably put the Churu and supplements into a little feeding syringe, but I'm not sure what to do about getting him to eat at shot time. I'm trying Fortiflora and some Stella and Chewy food topper, but it's not working. He's grazing on his food later in the cycle; I just can't get him to eat at shot time. I can try some different LC foods, but I have done that in the past and always go back to FF because he likes it the best. Ugh. It's always something, isn't it?

Have a nice weekend, everyone! Safe surfing, kittens.

How much after shot time is he eating? You have an hour or 90 mins after the shot to get him to eat. Even if he eats a little with the shot and grazes on the food between PS and +3, that's fine.

When is his last meal before the shot?

This whole not eating thing is brand new--just started this week. From what I've seen so far, he's grazing some within the first hour of the shot (not as much as he typically was grazing). In the daytime, I'm often not here to see how much he's eating, which has never been an issue before because he has been eating pretty well right when he gets his shot. Last night, I resorted to giving him MC (2 tsps.) at his shot--he licked most of the gravy and then went back a couple of times in the first two hours to eat a bit more. As the cycle progressed and the MC was gone, he ate some of his LC.

At night his last meal before his shot is typically +6. Sometimes, in the daytime when I'm working, I take up his bowl when I come home, and that can be around +9.

Do you think the Clavamox could have affected his appetite? I know it usually doesn't...It's notorious for making cats inappetent.

I asked because I wondered if eating later in the cycle was making him not so hungry at PS.

That's definitely a possibility. I didn't know Clavamox can cause inappetence! He has had problems with inappetence in the past while taking it--I just didn't connect that to the Clavamox. I sure hope that was it and that his appetite perks back up.

I hope Jude’s appetite gets back to his normal level very soon, Mary.
It’s so stressful when they don’t eat well 😭
Wishing you and your sweet gang a calm weekend with good eating ❤️‍🩹💕😻🍀🍃🍀🍃🍀🍃

I could not get Jude to eat much at his PMPS shot (62), so I shot a skinny dose. He's also not taking his supplements (for FIC). I'm going to need to figure out another method of delivery since he seems to have 'gone off' of the Churu method. Since his shot, he's been grazing a bit. I hope we don't have a crazy night (ANTI-JINX!!!!!).

Is there a different food you can try? Cats can temporarily go off the food they were eating when they were unwell because they associate that food with illness. Also a different brand of those squeezy treats?
