Omigosh, I never expected this. I thought being gone only a couple hours, he would be fine on MC. He ate a little gravy , but didn't want food. I'll check again in 20 min.

10 minutes later 97.....shot 0.5 lev. and gave MC

2.75~24.......wouldn't eat gravy...gave finger of Karo, while he struggled..wouldn't take any sweetened food....gave caramel sauce, out of desperation!

I've never been so scared in all my life. He seemed to be not alert, and I was ready to head in to vet, but it would be quicker to shove bad sugars in him myself.
Checkers wouldn't even eat the things he loves. Everything I learned on here, flew right out my sleep deprived brain.
I had to try to remember what it is, that he goes crazy over....oh yeah, the caramel sauce.

Once again I overcarbed him, but I don't care....he's feeling better, and alert.

In the process of checking meter(s) for numbers to do yesterday's SS, I discovered I put in wrong numbers for his pm data.
I didn't trust the Relion I was using and did double testing with Presto.....I posted wrong meter numbers....he was actually 52 points higher than I posted, using the meter I had used all day.
This dive really caught me by surprise........off to do SS now

barb, it's ok to be nervous at those numbers, heck, we were nervous when we caught mocha down that low once or twice and she was totally responsive .. couldn't imagine the panic had she not been alert!

I'm glad he's coming back up for you!

Is there a way to make those headline numbers smaller? When I delete some, to make room for latest test, it looks like I skipped important tests. Sometimes it's important to see the rise and fall.

Good catch and great job getting him up!! We all panic when they throw us curves like that!

No, I don't think you can reduce the size of the subject line. When I have to take numbers out I put in a series of ….. to show missing numbers.

Hi Barb, did you get to your own appointment?

Another thing you could try is honey. I think it tastes much better than Karo syrup, and maybe Checkers will think so too.
Congrats on the reduction. I hope Checkers will settle down now and not bounce. Check with you later.

Yes Ella, I tried honey, but put it on something he didn't want. I stuck a grimy finger in the new bottle of Karo, so that is contaminated.....drats!
He doesn't seem too energetic today, so am watching for signs of any illness.
I made it to my own blood draw, and am thankfull I came home immediately after. :smile:

Wow,Barb, wha t a day and scare for you. I just got back and was anxious to see how Checkers was feeling.
Sending you both some healing and calming vines. That's scary when they dive. I'll check back later.

What a day. He refused every decent HC offering, this morning, but had no problem getting up on counter, to feast on the plate of gravy food, that I inadvertently left there, from this morning.... an hour before shot time. grr_red
He felt great, and playful, once his numbers got blue.

A bounce is OK. Checkers is feeling better and that's what's important.
