Hello everyone, Here we are! Ok now that we are rolling into technically :otj:day 12 but I am once again up too late due to hard days at the office so I am just getting on here to update Baby's progress in the wee hours of of the morning so I am posting day 11.
Should I be concerned that Baby's numbers are in the high 80's /Low 90's?? She is looking great and doing well overall.
I am preparing to go on the family trip for 4 days. Yes, I am nervous about leaving. My sitter is coming over tomorrow to go over details on how to care for the cats. She will be staying at our home so I am relieved about that.
Is there anything I could be doing better for Baby? I do know that I will need to address her periodontal/dental health. I remember reading that her periodontal/dental health needs to be stable in order to keep her overall health and diabetes stable. That is the same for humans so I knew it is also extremely important for our pets. I was in crisis mode with Baby so there was no way I was going to put her through a dental cleaning until she was definitely more stable overall. I will be considering the time when it will be best to move forward with her dental care. For now?? Baby and I have been working hard to keep her thriving and enjoying life.
I hope you all are doing well and have a lovely weekend.:bighug::bighug::cat::cat:

Below 100 is below 100, don't worry about it. You could always do a random test mid day, though you don't have to. I presume you are still feeding her several small meals throughout the day and night? What's more important is your last sentence telling us how she's doing. :)

Happy Day 11/12 Lauri and Baby!!
Wishing you so much good luck! Have a nice trip and glad you have a good sitter to help you.

thank you so much!! I am crazy nervous to leave Baby :nailbiting::nailbiting:. I do have a good sitter thankfully. I am just worried. I need to pack and try not to worry. You know how it goes. No one takes as good as care as we do etc. I just don't want her crashing down. She has been doing so well overall.
Thank you for all of the love and support!! :cat::cat::D:D

Thank you so much for reminding me that success is success!! On Friday and Saturday I work straight through at work so I am not home all day. I leave out food while I am gone but it is not the same as me feeding her the small meals throughout the day when I can get home on my break. I feed her small meals at night up until midnight. After the midnight snack her next meal is at 6 am. She has been doing pretty well with that schedule. Lets see how she does tonight as I will feed her small meals until midnight. I leave for the airport at 5:30 am and will test her and feed her before leaving. I will leave out food when i leave. My sitter will arrive tomorrow around noon and take over until I return on Thursday morning. I would like to see her numbers a little lower for peace of my mind. I will have my sitter give her lower carb food selections while I am gone. Do you think that is a good plan of action?

Your plan sounds fine. You can always test a few hours after PMPS if you are still worried about her numbers. The food she gets then should cause her pancreas to make it's own insulin and bring down her numbers.
