Thanks on some visits after I went ni ni!
Michelle thanks on prezzzies, I did add a drop dose today, hoping for better numbers.
Deborah, it is a good feeling to scoop the Schtuff!
Carla, I know on those fur shots, ugh!

Morning ~O) ~O) and hope this new dose holds. I can't wait for some Mannie brew, as I'm so tired today, I did a short btd and may need another. Maggie seems well today and spent a long time on her patio chair staring into the yard. We both saw a little creature that looks like a giant rat, pointy face, long tail . Does that description fit a possum? It sure took its time lazing across the yard. Maggie is now on one unit (or 10 drops), so we hope to see more blues today. I've been experimenting with new foods low in phosphorus, but unfortunately they are higher in carbs, so I keep slowly taking Mags up. I need to double check on one in Dr. Lisa's list.
Temps will reach 92 degrees in my area, yikes, late summer! Have a nice day. I plan on trying again for the fly shot and arriving when the clinic opens. Healing vines for all kitties needing them. If I name them, I'm afraid of leaving someone out.

Re: 10/17 Maggie AMPS 285

Come on down Mags! Sounds like the wildlife is active there as well. Is your critter white/ gray? Our opossums are white and are about the size of a large cat. They are very lazy and take a LONG time to get anywhere. Ours hang out on the fences and in the trees. When Charlie comes up on them, they play dead or "possum." Nasty icky creatures. I don't say that about many things, but opossums and armadillos fall into my "ick" category. We have a ton of them since there is a wooded area behind us. We do have a bobcat that runs through our back yard every morning at dawn that is beautiful.

Hope the late summer breaks for you soon! Have a great day Ann!

Re: 10/17 Maggie AMPS 285

Time to bring it down a hair, Mags....work that dosecrease!!!

I hear ya on the needing sleep ... I just told DH I need about 8 more hours, but instead I've got to get ready for work. Enjoy any future BTBs!!!

That critter sounds like a possum...but, around here, the possums are pretty big, so I wonder if you've got either a baby there, or something else. How cute that Mags loves watching it!

Have a great day, Ann!

Quite a drop for a +3! I don't think I took her up too fast, as she was on the 9 drops dose for 14 cycles. Part of the AMPS is always overnight feeding before the +10.

Melissa, I meant to say the creature was mostly gray with some white. I bet possum, small like! Yikes on a Bobcat running thru your yard. We had a fox at my earlier apartment complex.

Amy, I guess Maggie read your post and decided to come down a hair! :-D

Re: 10/17 Maggie AMPS 285

Auntie Ann? I is on my way! I made a special triple shot espresso for you - that ought to get you up and moving. ~O) ~O) ~O) Plus the other extra special mocha today, you will loves it! ~~ Mannie, kitteh barista

Morning Ann ~O) ~O) ~O)

Good luck with the new dose, I hope Maggie likes it, and that it won't take forever to take effect. No NDW Maggie, OK? Think blue Maggie! Bring Mannie with you too, please?

Your critter sounds lie a possum. We have them here too, and they fit your description. very slow (!!) moving kinda ugly critters. long tail, pointy face.

Good luck with the flu shot - I don't blame you for leaving yesterday, what with the sick one in front of you... Hope you are successful today.

and oh my on the 92! HOT! We are 43.... maybe 55 today if we are lucky. Send some warm, OK?

Have a great day!

Re: 10/17 Maggie AMPS 285; +3 131

Ok Mags, working that dose - and blue! Yay for Maggie!

Ann - get that flu shot - DH passed along some information to me. We've all been told that cats don't get human flu, but researchers from Oregon just came out with a press release to say it's possible to pass human flu to animals. Not fair!

Re: 10/17 Maggie AMPS 285; +3 131

did the critter look like this? You can't see it in this pic, but the dead giveaway is if it had a hairless whitish tail.

BootsandOliveOyl.jpg

Nasty icky creatures. I don't say that about many things, but opossums and armadillos fall into my "ick" category.

Melissa,
Icky is in the eye of the beholder. If you'd ever raised one from a hairless tiny creature who needed to be fed with a catheter and seen it get big enough to eventually be released to the wild, I am 100% positive that you would never use "possum" and "icky" in the same sentence. :-D The Virginia Opossum is North America's only native marsupial, in case anyone is wondering... and just some trivia, but they have more teeth (50) than any other land dwelling mammal.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say I probably know more about this special little critter than anyone else here since I've helped rehab dozens of them from orphanhood to adulthood, and even had one live in our house for 3 years just like it was a part of the "herd".

The pic above is of Olive Oyl, who did actually live with us for 3 years. Boots the kitty didn't care that she wasn't quite the right species since she at least was the right colors! Olive would roam the house at will, never got into any kind of altercation with any of the cats, used the litter box, and sometimes slept at the foot of the bed. I wouldn't really consider that she was a "pet", because when she interacted with you was completely her choice, she wouldn't come when called, but she would climb up and sit on your lap when the mood struck her. We couldn't release her because she developed rickets as she was growing up and was crippled to the point where she could not have survived in the wild. But she was a really amazing creature. In the wild, they tend to appear "icky" and not clean, but that's just a consequence of their lifestyle. They are pretty much nature's vacuum cleaner, sort of a vulture with 4 legs who feast on road kill and just about anything they can find. But Olive was really clean, and actually spent at least as much time grooming as any cat would.

If you have one in your yard, that's a good thing, Ann. They eat other things you might not want around like rodents, and are immune to rattlesnake venom for instance. If I happen to see one patrolling my yard at night, I consider that a "good day".

I think a nice blue sure today!

Mannie thanks you for the triple espresso, along with my quad pumpkin spice mocha/white mocha blend drink. That will really help me get thru the day. I think you're right as she needed this extra drop.

Hi Lisa, thanks for that link on the flu and our furry ones. It didn't work. When you get a chance, can you resend and thanks to your DH for passing it along.

Hi Carl & Bob, thank you for the pic. Yes, that's the critter that passes thru our small yard! That face expecially, pointy and white. That pic is amazing with Bob the kitty and Olive Oyl, priceless! Neat story with Olive Oyl living with you and her way of interacting. I've learned something about possums. This possum was grazing as he/she moved along. Maggie was in a trance watching it, no hissing or growling. That is so neat you have helped rehab some of them from orphanhood to adulthood. We do have a lot of spiders and bugs in this complex with so much greenery planted throughout, so good to know Little Possum can have breffifs/munchies here any time. They seem to come around the crack of dawn, say around 2:30 am is when Maggie starts her watch.

Hi guys .. good luck with the new dose! I hope it does well with maggie .. What an adorable pic! I don't think we have any wildlife in our neighborhood ... or if we do, the girls could care less ... have a great day guys!

Re: 10/17 Maggie AMPS 285; +3 131; +5 151

Hi Ann, Nice slide into the blues, hope Maggie likes her new dose! And I see she gave prezzies 3 days in a row, way to go Maggie! :-D
We ocasionally see a possum on our deck and eating spillage from the bird feeders. Our cats like to watch it snuffle along and I agree with Carl, ours is cute.
Good luck with your flu shot. If you go back today, the store should have some anti -micro wipes or spray you could use to decontaminate the computer. I got mine yesterday, my dr office said they had one "left over" that I could have. They just wiped my arm and shot, didnt even offer a bandaid  .

Hi Devon, thanks on Maggie's dose and for stopping by. Someone told me that this area where I live used to be an all open area, and then some homes and apartment complexes were built, and it took over the animals' home.

Hi Leslie & Jasper, thanks on Maggie's slide into blue and her prezzies three days in a row. :-D I don't think we'll see any prezzies today after yesterday's huge deposit! Wow on how they just wiped your arm and no band aid? There should have been some wipes by the sign in computer, you're right.

Re: 10/17 Maggie AMPS 285; +3 131; +5 151; +6 147

Nice slidage there Maggie! :thumbup Good work on the prezzies too, you know how much your mom appreciates them!

I hope you get your flu shot today, I need to check on when the health fair is happening. I think this is the link from Lisa.

Re: 10/17 Maggie AMPS 285; +3 131; +5 151; +6 147

Hi Ann

Sorry the link doesn't work for you. I rechecked and it seems ok. Here is it again

http://oregonstate.edu/ua/ncs/archi...-raises-concerns-about-human-pet-transmission

Even if you can't get to it, I put the entire contents of the article in my post so you're not missing anything extra.

I'll let DH know ... he's actually going to get a flu shot this year ... for the first time ever because of this.

Re: 10/17 Maggie AMPS 285; +3 131; +5 151; +6 147

Thanks Ann & Tess on Maggie's slide . I hope this dose holds. Thanks on the link. Yes, I got my flu shot. The CVS Minute Clinic has all my records since I''ve gone there before, so it's more convenient than making an appt. with my primary doctor. There's also a whooping cough vaccine, but she said check with my doctor on that one. I don't think that one is necessary. There was a lot of whooping cough last year.

Hi Lisa, thanks on the link and thread, very interesting with our pets able to contact the virus. I have heard it before, and that article sure confirms it. I did get my shot today which is nice to get it out of the way. Good for DH getting the shot.

PMPS 252

I don't know if this is a bounce or meds or NDW or just Maggiepoo being a cat. :?
We did get three nice blues though, and it's the first day of new dose.

Re: 10/17 Maggie AMPS 285; +3 131; +5 151; +6 147; PMPS 252

Yes, those blues were very pretty Maggie! Very interesting condo going on today....thanks guys...I learned so much in here!! :thumbup :thumbup

Re: 10/17 Maggie AMPS 285; +3 131; +5 151; +6 147; PMPS 252

I hope Maggie adjusts to her new dose soon. I'm glad you were able to get your flu shot today.

Re: 10/17 Maggie AMPS 285; +3 131; +5 151; +6 147; PMPS 252

Hi Ann. Very nice blues for Mags today.

I agree with Pat. This has been a very interesting condo.

No band aid with my flu shot either. Just swiped it first with alcohol wipe, then wiped with tissue afterward.
Guess there's not much bleeding in the muscle of the upper arm.
Did you know, if you put your arm behind you, it relaxes the muscle and doesn't hurt?

Re: 10/17 Maggie AMPS 285; +3 131; +5 151; +6 147; PMPS 252

Thanks Pat & Shadow for the cheers for Maggie. I'm happy to see the middle blues. The meds and new food keep her up a bit.

Thanks Carla on Maggie's new dose. One unit is not too difficult to measure.

Hi Barb & Checkers. I just thought of it just now with the flu shot! No band aid for me either. It must be new guidelines.
