Morning LL ~O) ~O) ~O) Do Lou is doing great this morning with all P's in place DH is off to buy him a heated bed well its more like a heated square pad and then he is going to craft another handicapped post to hold it and steps for him to lay on it, Do Lou has been having a wee bit more trouble navigating around so we have had to add some more things to help him our bedroom looks like a war zone its nothing but Do Lou stuff everywhere LOL   I have to watch getting up in the night so i do not trip over a set of his steps ;-)

That's great to make such accommodations for Doo Lou. And it's great to be part of community where talking about the things we do for our kitties doesn't earn a sad shake of the head. You are good beans!

Oh Lisa...I just watched Do Lou's videos on your profile page. I didn't know he was blind. My heart just melted watching him play and what a wonderful lady you are for the special accommodations. You guys just made my day - big hugs to you!!

Morning LIsa!! Do Lou continues to look great and what a lucky, lucky boy he is!!! I hope the heated bed and the new steps up to it will help DL. You all are such great beans to him!!! I'm so happy to see him just plugging away
at great numbers.

Have a wonderful day.

Yeah he is my speical boy Jessica and overall he gets around wonderful for his condition you just cannot change anything really too much and yeah its so cute if he plays knowing he must be doing it more by sound then anything I am guessing he always puts a giant smile on my face when he plays which is not very often anymore, DH does a great job in crafting things for him :-D

Hi Lisa & Do Lou,

Do Lou, you're about to get a mighty fine new heated bed! It sounds really neat. Nice numbers today, too.

Lisa, I can empathize with everything always having to be in the same place so that Do Lou knows where he is and so that you don't trip over stuff in the dark. Edward has low vision and we do much the same. We are trying to train Rusty to speak when Edward gets too close to where he is sitting (always in the middle of everything). So far not too much success and Rusty has gotten stepped on a few times (he blends right into the floor). (Stu had a subtle little low-pitched warning sound that he used when Edward approached!)

Have a fine evening, guys,

Ella & Rusty

I just watched DL's movies too--AWWWWWWWW! He is the sweetest boy ever!!
Amazing what these kitties can do--I will have to make a video of Moonie doing her Moonie walk with the neuropathy & how she has learned to jump up where she wants to be comfy..
These cats are incredible & very very special--Hey But We Knew That!!!
Nice blue today--Missed you--Hugs & Lub from us!

I love it that
you do
that voodoo
for Do Lou
so well!

I built cat steps to the bed for Homie (GA) when he got really ill (& skinny, )...
he adamantly refused to use them...BUT:
Lil Mister Roly-poly Binks, who was 10 yrs younger than the Homieman and was twice his current size back then...tipping the scales at a 'fluffy' 18 lbs...
waddled into the bedroom, took one look at the steps, heaved a big sigh of relief that clearly said "Thank goodness for this!", and dragged his plump little butt
up them!

Lisa, how wonderful with the heated pad for DoLou! He is just going to love it and the accommodations you are making for him. You are one amazing Bean, and DoLou is a very special kitty! Very nice cycle today, too.

Hi guys!! What ncie numnerbs for Do Lou! Such a nice steady blue - well done!

How wonderful on the heated bed. It is great to see a bean(s) work with the kitties to help them have a good life. I hope he likes hie new bed.

I just watched the videos, too....sooooo cute!

Am I the ony one who is jealous of Do Lou's new heated bed, though  ??

thanks all for the video comments  yes how things have changed in my marriage when I see my DH now doing things with all our abys and making cat trees and special things for Do Lou and believe it or not there was a time in our marriage when he was not too keen on cats and was not big on having more then one cat how things have changed   they really won him over it took some time but now he is the biggest cat lover ever

Missy asked me to stop by an thank Do Lou for his concern. I am SO glad I did!
I wondered if Do Lou was an Aby from the picture. You have done such an amazing job with his profile!! He is gorgeous....I loved the videos! :thumbup
My 'heart' cat, as my vet likes to say, was an Abyssinian, LB. She was also gorgeous (no bias here ;-) ) and I have never bonded more with any of the kitties I have been priviledged to share life with. I have loved each and every one of them, but she was special, as I can tell Do Lou is. (thankfully, Missy and Phoenix are sawing logs....wouldn't want them to get jealous) My LB was one of the things I am most proud of in my life. She was bred by a woman who thought to keep her to show, but she did NO socialization with her. She spent the first 3months of her life locked in a bedroom with minimal human contact. When I took her home, she was in total terror and she bit me HARD (hence the LB..Little Bi**h  ) and hid in the bedroom closet for two weeks. I fed her, talked to her...and she finally came out. And with patience she became the most loving, affectionate cat I ever shared life with. She would follow me around like a dog (almost) until I would sit down, so we could get some loving'. And she would DROOL! Shake her head and spit would go flying..... She would 'nose butt' me so hard it hurt! It has been 7 years, now, and just writing this brings tears to my eyes.
Your Do Lou is beautiful and he is fortunate to have such wonderful 'peeps'!

aw, do lou is one lucky boy - a warm bed, stairs to the bean bed, and lots of toys! he's a special one! i think you should keep him. ;-)

nice that your husband came over to the dark side. mine wasn't keen on cats either, or pets for that matter, but of course, animals can win you over if they get a chance. at one point we had 15 at once. now the DH loves punkin just as much me.
